For an engine producing 200bhp per liter its a very small exhaust system. The piping diameter is only 65mm.

you have a turbocharged car...... you dont need back pressure....... and the loudest you can make your car would in this case belive it or not would be a pretty close representation to the amount of power your gaining from the exhaust.

I'm making 150 bhp per liter in the mini and have a 65mm diameter exhaust, which is press bent, so in actuality, its more like a 50mm diameter exhaust =) not bad

This is a naturally aspirated motor that spins ridiculous rpm. The piping diameter is crucial to managing scavenging along with a venturi effect at the collector to increase the exhaust gas velocity into a larger diameter pipe.

With this quote it should mean that having a catless dp dump would yield the best results?

lol that would be just about 0 backpressure. With stock ecu... watch the AFR run super lean and boom, bye bye motor

Ok, guys... To those with no cats, can I come over to your house and pour my used oil down your well?

Well that's about what you are doing to MY air...

You want to fit some hi flow cats on there, fine, I've got no problem with that. But, just being an ******* and deleting the cats so you can be annoyingly loud, and grossly pollute my air is a bit much. If I see ya, I'll turn you in myself. You do know there is a $2,500 fine for an individual removing the cats, $25,000 for a shop...

lol. Not that I disagree with you (because I wouldn't run catless myself), but, honestly the handful of people that go catless (say even 100,000 people in the US [who knows how wild that number is]), isn't even putting a dent in the pollution #'s. Industrial/commercial plants are responsible for some crazy % of the total estimated pollution, I recall 75% or greater. And only 5% are by residents (which includes our cars). A semi spewing black soot out of his stacks is far worse than any mini will ever produce in pollution. And, its everybody's air, not yours

Ask smokers that....

And not exactly disagreeing with you, however like BostonR56 said...there are far worse polluters out there than the .0005% of ULEV Mini Cooper owners running without a cat.

When I finally get a downpipe...it will be catless. Not worth it otherwise. Any of the high flow catted downpipes will a) cost a lot more b) provide little gain c) still throw CEL's d) still won't pass emissions testing

Really this gets old. There are a great number of things to get bent out of shap on then a few guys running catless. The fact that you continue to voice your oppioning shows how egnerrent you are. New cars like the mini being direct injected high compression can be made to run as clean as if the had a cat. Cats are from a bye gone time when carberaters would dump gas down the throughout of a engine with no control over the burn. Thouse making all kinds of bad stuff.

Look outside your little scope of life and look at the mass of fousel fuels that are being consumed daily by the world. Makes the tail pipe on a catless mini look like it is .00005 of an inch.

Nice man how much did you pay for it? I just bought a custom catless DP heat wrapped and everything for $75 on the forums. Now that that's taken care of I am not sure what o do about the rest of the system. I was thinking cat back, but now i'm leaning towards a custom build
