WooHoo--R53 in Bimmer magazine (Oct '10)
Well, OK, Bimmer magazine usually has a Mini in each issue (but it didn't have one in #92), but the new issue (#93, October 2010) has one...and it's mine!
Couldn't think of where else to post this, and whom else to share with. I'm stoked. Although the author confuses oil cooler and intercooler on the first page, it's written pretty well, and there are some nice photos in the 4-page spread.
A lot of you have read my posts, and maybe seen some of the more detailed mod-based photos of the car, but the article is a nice all-over look at it. After 5 years, it still looks good on the pages of a magazine!

Enough to sell it and buy a Cayman S? I wish...
Guess I'll just keep it and continue to enjoy it every time I sit in that Sparco.
Thanks,

Thanks,
The magazine just hit the shelves here in Kuait today.
Your car looks great!
I do have a couple questions though: Where did you get the dual parcel shelves, and what cup holder is that? I would realy like to have theese parts.

I have'nt left you guys Steve, I just slowed down on some things, and started picking random threads that I have answers for, to post in. I am almost done buying my parts, and when I get home I am going to do a full buildup thread, so yall can follow along.
Maby some day my car will be considered to be worthy enough of a magazine article.

Rick: The parcel shelves require a little international diplomacy. In the US, the left side one is easy to get, but the right side, passenger, one requires you know someone in Europe, as they are the only ones who can get it. So find a buddy stationed in Germany, and you've got yourself matching Euro parcel shelves, right and left!
As for the cup holder, it is no longer made--sorry.
I guess it's strange, but I have sold my little dose of Lithium! I guess the magazine exposure was all it took, but it's been replaced with a Porsche Cayman S. (I've had it 5 days, and I've only done 2 mods...)

So the right side parcel shelf is just the one to a RHD euro model, sweet that means it shuld be redaly avalible through a european dealer. I might need to start sending emails around to different companys in the UK.
After all the things that I am doing to my car I dont think that I could ever sell it, UNLESS somebody offered me a rediculous amount of cash or a straight trade on a 2005 Lotus Exige S(220).
Good luck with the Porsche, I hope it dosent mean that you are leaving us.

Well, thanks Steve.
Unfortunately my buyer just bailed, so I am back looking for someone to take on the responsibility of owning and driving my labor of love...

This could be a message DIRECTLY from GOD.....
My sister inlaw traded her Mini for a pickup truck ( she thought she needed ). As she left the lot, before driving over the .001" where 10% of the value of your brand new vehicle gets sucked into, she regretted the deal. Now, 3 years later, she still visits the Mini dealer.......
So, maybe you need to keep that old pile of polishing cloths......... How could that be a bad thing?
