Need Help With Choosing an Exhaust...need opinions...

I'm the proud owner of a British Racing Green MCS and would definitely like to start the upgrades...the cravenspeed 17% pully will be installed in a couple weeks, along with an intake, either alta or cravenspeed...but would like to also get the exhaust to finish off the sound...i've narrowed it down to a few that i love the sound of...

Milltek ---------- BlueFlame ------------Hamann------------AC Schnitzer

Those are the four that I love the sounds of atleast but i'm sure they all have their pros/cons, such as price, like for the ac schnitzer...

any opinions/experience would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Exhaust

This is my first Post but have a little experience with Exhaust. I have a 2006 MCS and spent many hours researching the different types/sounds/price etc. Finally I settled on the Stratmosphere, with a little help from Way @ Way Motor Works and can tell you that it has been a great decision. Just like the Milltek but better quality, in my opinion .

Price: Somewhere in the Middle. Cheaper than Milltek.

Quality: Excellent, actually looks too nice not to see anything but the Tips once installed.

Sound: Very close to stock for normal driving but really opens up after 4000rpm. Absolutely zero drone at HWY speeds (70-75mph).

Just my 2 cents but hope it helps.

Mods: Mini Madness CAI, Way Motor Works 15% pully, Stratmosphere Exhaust, TSW Motor Mount.

I have the Invidia exhaust and absolutely love it. Sporty tone that's not too loud. And the blued titanium tips are really cool to look at. It's also one of the cheapest. You can get it as low as $660, and it's a catback setup. You'll also lose about 40 lbs. vs. the stock setup.

Go with the Stratmosphere
http://www.waymotorworks.com/stratmo...3-hardtop.html
It sounds great, no drone and is pretty much a copy of the Milltek, but has nicer welds on it.

check out the Scorpion exhaust. you can get it from bavarian autosport. Good sounding system for under $600.

Thanks for all the inputs, I think I've narrowed it down to either the BlueFlame or Hamann though...

I would take a closer look at the Stratmosphere. IMO it's the best quality/value that I see in the shop.

I have the Miltek and really love the sound. Not too loud but not so soft you think you are just a tad above stock. Expensive but I think it's worth it.

I really like the second generation Magnaflow. Like all the other manufacturers they use 2 1/2" tubing down the center. The big difference in the Magnaflow over the others is the diameter of the tubing used after the split. Magnaflow uses 2 1/4" tubing from the split all the way to the tips. This is a lot larger then all the other giving better flow . It also give a nice deep tone.

I'm going with the new straight-back R53 G4 exhaust, heard it at the Dragon, nice throaty and deep. They've got 3 tones, conservative (Milletk/JCW-ish), sporty (Borla Street / BlueFlame-ish) and omigosh (Borla Race-ish). I'm also testing a version that doesn't require battery box modification, will let y'all know how it goes as I don't have it yet....

Agreed with Longboard. I am recieving the magnaflow next Wednesday. The price was awesome out the door with tax for $594. its a cat back and this defiantly beats everyone else's 2" to my 4" tips but mine is a clubbie

The Invidia is not too loud UNTIL you install a header... I'm running an Alta header with Invidia CatBack and it is LOUD...

Oddly enough, it is the loudest when the car is cold... Once the engine / exhaust gets up to operating temperature, the exhaust note drops to about half as loud as when it's cold... Someone will have to explain that one to me as I've turned wrenches my entire life and still don't get it...

It's so loud that I am considering adding a resonator inline between the cat and rear of the car to quieten it down...

BTW, I picked up my Invidia CatBack new in box off eBay for $543...

Take a good long look at the Milltek, perfect sound, 15 lbs. lighter than stock, great build quality. Also, shown to make good HP gains. Here's a look at my install: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...rut-brace.html
