oil cooler, anyone installed on R56, thoughts..

hey guys, thinking about picking up an oil cooler from one of the vendors. I live in Az and will be tracking the car 3-4 times a year (for now). Other than that it is a daily driver. Has anyone added an better oil cooler system, and are the benefits worth the price of admission? Any thoughts...?

The Accumulator is tapped to the pressure side of the engine’s oiling system. When the engine is running, oil pressure forces reserve oil into the accumulator and compresses the air ahead. If oil pressure should suddenly drop because of hard acceleration, severe cornering or hard braking, the air pressure immediately sends oil to the main galleries. When the danger is over and the pump is once again primed with oil, the oil pressure forces oil back into the Accumulator where it is ready for the next emergency.

not needed on a DD really. A good investment may be a catch can instead if you havent.

I doubt you need it for your uses. Another side effect would probably be longer warm up times for the oil, which may not be best for street driving. So unless you're racing your car, it seems like more oil being used (higher capacity), higher chance for leaks, ect.

a good oil cooler will have a thermostat to alleviate this problem

The m7 one is costly and very small. I got one for $400 wich is almost twice as big. You can even get one a lot cheaper if you know what size from summit racing.
