Modding Automatic MCS

Hello,

My name is Jack and I am the happy owner of an 06 MCS Automatic.

That being said, I am not in love with the automatic as of yet...

Does anyone do mods to the automatics?

Where should I start? I hear about pulleys and intake but wonder if I should do anything with this Automatic.

What is the first item to mod if I want it to get up and go a bit quicker?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I like the ease of the auto but I am afraid that I am going to be looking for a trade-in sooner than expected.

Please assist in anyway possible.

Thank you in advance kind Mini owners!

Hi AutoMCS
I've had mine since since it was new. It took me 8 months to get it built and delivered. To tell you the truth am very glad a got the automatic. It will take you some time to get used to it, but once you do I think you will real like it. As far as mods go. I have just about everything you can do with out going to a turbo. I one thing about the auto is the HP gains are far below the standards shift, but HP is not everything. If I had to do it over again. I do the same thing.

Definetly start with a supercharger pulley, you can't go wrong there. After that the snowball will begin. Do the pulley then decide how much further you want to go. I have several Auto Trans customers, and some have EVERYTHING including cylinder heads. But start simple and go from there. If you need help you can always call us.

Thanks very much for both responses! I'd like to get the pulley and a CAI if that helps much..

What is the difference between a 15% and 17% (besides 2%?
One is better?

I have had the car since December 28th and I am beginning to get the feel for the auto. Everyday it gets to be more fun. I just need more open road and more drive time! thx again.

I am not a mechanic by any means. Know of any reputable shops in Indiana? Driving to Hotlanta for a few days sounds fun too

Have you tried manual control (paddle or stick shifting) in sport mode? I prefer the stick. It's great to be able to easily switch from "fun" mode to "traffic" mode with my 05 MCSa.

I purchased a new 2005 auto and started modding it after 4 months. Started with the 15% pulley and CAI and have been adding to it like Checkers (see my sig for mods). There was a definite increase in HP after adding the pulley when compared to stock. Good luck on your journey.

I really enjoy driving the auto now. It's only in drive when the wife is in the car zzz. I'm looking forward to doing some mods hopefully soon. I finally traded in my grandpa's car to get the MINI and in honor of him I'm naming it Lil Mic. I took a pic today.

It's all stock I think. Any suggestions on exterior mods would be nice! Does anyone have the the mud flaps or splash guards on their tires with a pic? I get alot of crud on him at the moment.

Thanks again!
