This is my Oil Cooler, it is an Automatic cooler with bigger lines on it. Fits in the stock location if you don't have an Automatic. I have a thermostat on it as well coming out of the Mini Madness adaptor plate.

I'll see if I can get some pics later this week when I have the car on a lift. Cooler fills whole lower grille area. Tight fit. Large cooler.

I like this...the cooler itself is bolted down and secure. The others don't seem to be bolted to anything.

the big downside to that application is it doesn't get good airflow over it.... I had to put my TVS there because I didn't have any other room for it anywhere else

ahh summer comes and oil coolers to follow. i've got madness cooler adapter plate going to a bigger strab than madness offers . why? just cause. i'm going thru a mocal thermostat too . right to the bumper is a good place to install. just add rubber washers for dampers. the thermostat fits good on passenger side crush tube . some cutting to plastic bits a must to get hoses thru without collapse . madness adapter has temp and pressure ports right on it . just use 90 or 45 degree fittings npt. btw the bottom hole out of the block is out bound flow . pull main ign. relay and bump over the starterr just to be sure, the oil should pump out the bottom hole .

this is the heavy duty system for the TVS it could be used on a regular track car for those wanting the ultimate in cooling. The core used is extremely expensive so it's not for the weak of heart

Seeing as how it is going to be 98+ degrees soon in Texas would I benefit from one of these? Pardon my ignorance on the subject just looking for some info. ANYthing to keep anything cooler in/on my car would be nice.

anytime you take heat out of the engine it's only going to last longer. We have seen 300deg F out on the track with cars even running a stock pulley

I believe that. I've gotten up to 280 on track and my temp sensor is at the BOTTOM of the oil pan (stock oil temp gauge add-on).

A working oil cooler is near the top of my list...

haha

ah the brake saga...cliff's notes: rotors were on backwards (thus not cooling themselves) but are being installed correctly along with a duct kit (WMW). Your advice will probably end up being what I need to do: bigger wheels, thicker rotors. I'll get there. I learn slowly.

Will you be at LRP with the NJ chapter on 5/15? I'll be at NJMP on 5/2.

Actually, with the testing we did using temp. paint, brake ducts made no difference. One car with ducts and TSW BDM BBK. Other car without ducts and TSW BDM BBK. Brake killer track (Eagles Canyon) - I think it was a May or June event so temps weren't killer 80s/90s.

Both BBKs registered same temp as rear rotors, which is great.

I was planning to install oil pressure and temp gauges for my R-53, any suggestions on where to mount the sending units?

Oil pressure is easy if you get this: http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=228

oil temp...I was thinking that I would drill and tap a hole in the oil pan. I'd assume that the oil pan temps are the most accurate temps of what the oil is actually at since it is the greatest volume of oil in the engine, thus also the most stable oil temp.

If your goin to uae Jan's oil cooler you'll have to get fittings with lines. Jan can supply those with his cooler. If you use the Madness cooler, the adapter plate has a boss on it for pressure line and temp switch.
