jan has a oil cooler assembly?i did not know this...the reason i bring up the oil cooler is because i think the heat exchanger is starting to fail because im noticing small peanut butter coloured spots in the expansion tank...ive pulled plugs and checked the seals on the engine and dont find any oil leaking...plus pulling the dipstick i see no weird colors so if i had to take a guess if that is in fact oil and not just crap that was in the lines its coming from the stock heat exchanger

i used a pump and sucked all the fluid out of the tank...it looks like its sediment...could be stuff from the water perhaps but i havent noticed any weird spikes in water temp

Mine had crap in the tank from day one. I think they added some type of stop leak/sealer at the factory.

On the street in Florida, I've never seen oil temps over 225-230F. Nowhere near the point where I'd want an aftermarket oil cooler. If I was racing and seeing temps substantially higher, then I'd consider one.

Just installed Jan's new radiator and oil cooler. Very nice stuff.
Only thing is Jan's setup doesn't have the fittings for pressure or temp. I remember him saying something about changing something on the fittings to do it. Maybe he can chime in and explain.

I have found the fittings for the oil pressure or temp, they are $20 a piece

Are there any pictures of the RMW oil cooler set up? I have the old cobalt oil cooler plate then a custom set up with aeroquip, canton and setrab. The aeroquip is like sand paper to anything it touches, but rubber would wear though and leak the oil, so I had to go with it.

I might consider buying just the tubing of the kit, depending on how the mounting plate or cooler core look/function.

The RMW site needs all kinds of updating. Pics are the least of needs. This thread alone shows there are people who have no idea of the range of products available; hell, I didn't know RMW had much of anything for this application that was beyond prototyping phase.

Having a full range of products laid out, straight up, would end in my account emptying immediately though. Maybe it's for the best RMW keeps the site as is then.

Oil in the expansion tank? I remember reading on here about that, but I can't remember what the cause was. It isn't good. I tried searching for it, but I can't find it.The expansion was literally filled with oil. Can anybody help out?

Can't remember the exact thread but it was when the mini oil cooler (heat exchanger) failed the oil was allowed to mix with the coolant as the cooler uses the coolant to cool.... Now say that 3 times real fast..

Here's the radiator installed and the oil cooler mounted. The lines aren't run yet in this pic. The radiator and cooler look odd because Danny put the front on and said I should be ashamed of the dirt on the condenser so he washed everything before we proceeded putting everything else on. The unit fits under the stock bumper cover.

Is there a thermostat? This is an important part...

I tried mounting my oil cooler in this spot but I couldn't get my Canton thermostat to fit down there, plus aeroquip hose can't bend too well.
