I can custom build oil bypass for anyone who might want one. Removes stock oil filter and cooler and routs oil to remote filter and cooler.
Not that I am in the business in doing this, but if your in my area and want a good track setup oil filter/cooler, then give me a shout.

Just an example of extreme setup.

Nice setup for track use only. Very extreme for street and light track use.

Ummm, yea, ... I wouldn't think anyone would want the same setup as my race car. That's why I said "I can custom build", and "Just an example of extreme setup."

Your big cooler looks nice Jan and is of proper design, I am sure it can make a big difference on oil temps.

Do you have any data on how effective it is?

All Coopers need Coolers

Stop and Go Traffic in NY two weeks ago (afternoon Yankee game just let out, 2 hours to go 5 miles) cooked my clutch, factory oil temp gauge read 135C, had the heat on and windows open to keep it cool...UUC stage 2 going in and need oil cooler...anyone use aftermarket core with MM adapter? Will MM just sell the adapter?

It's a lot easier in buying a kit. I have the RMW one and ever since the install my oil temps have been unbelievably low, and does not climb up under hard driving circumstances. For $400 you get everything you need and it's a perfect fit. Stop and go traffic I usually see around 180-190F.

DAMN!!! You got that! I was going to outbid you but I went to the dentist yesterday, then went drinking last night. BTW Novocaine and alcohol don't mix well. Needless to say after the novocaine wore off I was in a lot of pain took two tylenol PM and forgot to set my 3:45AM alarm to wake up and snag that thing. Woke up at 7AM for work and was ticked. Good on you for getting it! I'm jealous , if it turns out you don't want it let me know, I was going to bid up to ~$50

Oil cooler received today

Sorry //MZero, I just received the CVT Trans cooler today; Scolburn79 was the first I heard of ising as a cooler, I'm still waiting for Jan's adapter plate, Still deciding wether or not to use a t-stat. Its a great concept, I'm surprised there are not alot done this way...how much is the oem core?

I'll post pictures when done, need to install my cluch first...see my post on melted T-O bearing shaft bushings.

Thermostat is really not needed. Being you most likely are running 5-30 synthetic, it's just not an issue. Just don't pounce on the car as quick. Give it a bit more time to warm up.

Are you still running factory oil filter housing?

Yes, you will need a T-stat if you are in a cold winter area. Oil needs to be able to get to at least 100C. Without the OEM oil "cooler" you won't get any heat from the coolant to help warm it up.

True. A point I did think about. But a nice piece of cardboard works pretty good in the winter.
Even in winter though, oil will have no problem staying well over 100. But it will just take a bit longer to get there. The block heats the oil up fine really. It will always be higher then water temp anyway.

Haa, true. I give.
But really, true that a t-stat is a nice addition. Don't mean to be saying that one "should" go without. Just saying that one can go without.

I think I will be removing my t-stat which I added after the oil cooler. It kept my coolant and oil temps a bit lower. My water temps do not climb higher unless the car just sits and idles. However, with the t-stat my car is running extremely rich. Black smokes at wot and the idle cuts up when the car is being revved. I am also running 10-50 oil so it takes even longer to get to my operating temps which are 180-195F on the streets.

google hammersnipe auction stealer. You put in your max bid and it does the bidding for you up to that amount only in the last few seconds of the auction ending. You can set it and forget it and you get three free ones each week.

T-Stat

I'm thinking of running a 190-200F Tstat, my car (stock) usually runs at 110C, but in traffic it can reach 135C which intuitively seems too hot, since the Water temp is 180ish F.maybe mount it with nodrip QDs to make oil changes easier

RMW -Jan

Got the Cooler adapter Plate, too bad it can't be seen in the enging bay, Your black anodized adapter plate is awesome!! Just need to get a couple AN-8 fittings and Tig them to my CVT cooler.

If all RMW parts are the same quality as this plate I'm sold
