Are you seriously saying you have a need to go faster than 135 mph in Phoenix?

One thing to do that is legal if you want to be slick to the air and reduce your coefficient of drag is to tape up your front bumper and bonnet seams and openings other than for the places you need it for air intake, radiator and intercooler cooling. All the extra light openings can be taped up. Maybe that will help a little as will if you have lowered your MINI. Reduce air drag- remove the antenna and maybe the side mirror on the passenger's side.

The Shark Injector, and possibly most other, ECU reflashes do away with the limiter

The rev limiter (engine speed) and the governor (vehicle speed) are values programmed into the ECU. Change the values, and you change the limits.

I have not had anything done to my ECU and with the reduction pulley I was able to get my MCS to about 140 and that was with the windows open too! Now I don't know if my speedo is that far off or what, but I could not get it that fast before the pulley was swapped. I'm still running factory tires.

Windows Open!?!?! .. but I guess at those speeds, seat belts dont even matter. Tried a speed that high in a mercedes one late night a long time ago and the crave to reach some top-speed was and still is eliminated. It's very intense if anything.

There are three paved roadcouse race tracks around the valley. They are:

Phoenix Int'l Raceway

Firebird International Raceway

Airzona Motorsports Park

PIR also has the 1 mile oval in addition to the roadcourse
FIR has dragstrips and three roadcourse tracks

Since I haven't had the opportunity to go crazy fast on any of these, I'm assuming that speeds over 140 MPH can be reached with a ungoverned MINI on at least one of these tracks.

Sorry I've been away from the site for a couple of days.

The rev limiter goes to 7250 and the speed is (I believe) totally gone - in any case way higher than I'm likely to drive.

You think 140 with the windows open is bad, try 160ish on a motorcycle. That is the most intense sound I have ever heard. Not to mention the extreme forces of the wind
