130whp dyno results...

Hey guys, so I'm kinda surprised at these dyno results... mods on my car are: 15% pulley, Alta CAI, RMW header, RMW tune, and 2.5" ALTA catback. Can anyone tell me HOW my results are lower than stock after these mods? And also, what would be the next greatest mod for boosting power (apart from a new head)? Thanks!

well, before the header and tune, on the same dyno i ran exactly 130whp. So apparently I gained nothing from the header and tune

Ouch!! The next power boost...?? You need to get what you have corrected..yes?? You should be close to a 200-210 WHP with what you have.. A Head will pull it all together and allow more power..also a Camshaft, but I agree there is a LOT incorrect with what you have!!

See Link. Autoxcooper.com might be something there that will help on you gains.. AFTER you fix what you have now..cool??

Just me.............................

My guess is the dyno isn't calibrated correctly? Isn't it pretty impossible to run two exact numbers on two different days? I thought the graphs people posted of their dynos was the highest reading of 3 pulls.

You had this tuned AFTER all these mods I assume? I can imagine you are bummed. I am sure you will get this worked out and as long as you have fun driving your car you should be ok

Does seem real low. I do not know enough about Dynos to make any sort of hypothesis. This thread ought to be exciting.

What are other MINIs making on this dyno? or some reference number to other cars b/c dyno numbers by themselves don't mean a whole lot. DD are lower-reading dyno's b/c they put a load on the vehicle similar to the Mustang Dyno's...

Nonetheless, 130 seems really low... especially with all your added parts, at least there should be some kind of 'delta'...

Questions:
- Is your car getting boost?
- Did your mechanic notice anything out of the ordinary?
- What did your tuner say about your car's lackluster performance? don't tell me 'bad gas'
- did u pay the full amt for the tune? is there a free retune once your stuff is fixed?

Not to put more damper on things, but that's the power of a 'non-S' so i'm going on a limp and assume that you're experiencing mechanical issues...

Just my 2 cents...

I've never officially checked if the car is getting boost, I just assume it is.
Mechanic never said anything bad about the car.
Jan said that 2003s were notorious for having bad maps out of the factory but he said he fixed it.

1) did your butt dyno tell you these mods added any power.... ?

2) If so, this dyno test was a bust, go somplace else for a second opinion before doing any more mods, then go back to the guy from this test and get your money back.....

It definately does feel faster but I still cant beat my friends IS 250 (204hp, soo about 164whp) and hes 800lbs heavier, leading me to think this dyno MIGHT be correct??? reading everyone elses charts I should be at like 190+whp...

Is this the dyno sheet that Jan did from the tune or was this a later dyno?

so what are other cars putting down on this dyno? that would give a better idea of what the dyno is reading.

Something must be wrong with the dyno, if the car was that far off Jan would have known it then.... Is the car running the same to your butt dyno now as it was when Jan finished?

Those numbers are consistent so we know the dyno is reading right. My stock 335i did 270whp on a Mustang Dyno in AZ so those are realistic number....

i have a low dyno result too 150 whp untune.

my mods at the tune was
1. 15%
2. CAI
3. IK22 plugs
4. catback
all these with standard AUTO transmission. and dyno at 2nd gear of my car.

Now, do you have a AUTO or STICK , which gear was dyno took place? and how hot was the weather?
