RMW Dyno Tuning Day - North Georgia

I am pleased to announce that Jan from Revolution MINI Works will be providing custom dyno tuning on Sunday, October 4, 2009, in Calhoun, Georgia (approximately 1 hour north of Atlanta, 1 hour south of Chattanooga) at Dyno4Mance (www.dyno4mance.com). The shop is awesome, even owned by an Englishman, Andrew, which seems appropriate for our cars.

Jan will tune 8 cars, tentatively scheduled for the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Andrew will have at least one certified mechanic on site to perform installations, such as exhaust, intakes, etc. You can even drop ship directly to the shop. Please contact Andrew to make any appropriate arrangements regarding installations. In addition to the website, Andrew can be reached at (706) 602-8881. I have no financial interest in Jan's or Andrew's businesses - I just want to get my car tuned.

The cost per car is as follows: R53 - $350.00; R56 - $600.00 for the tunes. Dyno time will be charged at a rate of $100.00 per car. Andrew will provide lunch. In order to make this work for Jan and for Andrew, 8 cars are absolutely needed. I have been responsible for organizing this, and I am extremely excited about this opportunity. I do feel responsible for insuring that this works for Jan and Andrew, and will do what I can to prevent them from taking a financial beating. In that vein, the first 8 cars (well 7, since I will be having my car tuned) to indicate to me their commitment to getting this done AND provide me with a $150.00 non-refundable deposit will be the cars to get tuned. Merely giving me a verbal commitment provides no protection for tuner or dyno shop. Getting up late, last minute cold feet, etc., is not acceptable. The deposit should help prevent such potential problems and provides at least some financial protection for Jan and Andrew. For whatever it is worth, I am an Assistant District Attorney for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit - not a con-man, a thief, or even a businessman.

I will accept pms here on NAM or emails at lgx2@tvn.net, and will provide instructions on payment of the deposit and answer any questions that I can. The first seven deposits received will make the final list. I have a paypal account, but d/n use it much and don't really know what fees, restrictions, etc. would apply. In that regard, I would like the deposits in the form of checks or money orders (I am not a financial transaction guy, just a prosecutor). I will try and keep as up-to-date of a list of cars to be tuned in this thread as possible.

This is a great and limited opportunity for us Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama MINI owners to get a custom tune from a true, recognized expert MINI tuner. My son and I got to meet Jan at the Koni Race at Barber Motorsports Park. He was very gracious with his time and a truly nice guy.

I hope we can make this happen. Let me know if you are interested.

Len Gregor

For all you guys who can't make it to Jan's tune, Waylen from WayMotorWorks can do R53 and R56 tunes. He is based out of Georgia now. He gave me a modified JCW tune while he was out at MiTM.

Waylen has a new Genious and does out-of-the-box and custom tuning as well; shop in Atlanta. No worries about dealer reflashes when Jan leaves.

I'd come to one in the DFW area. I can't imagine it being that hard to get 8-10 MINI's to come out in the Dallas area.
