Drivetrain Why did Mini Mania cancel their Cooper Turbo Project?
My guess is that they might source it from Peter at M7. I can't say for sure, but Peter does have somthing for the MC that he is to highlight this weekend, if I understood correctly.
hahaha,
well, i just lowered it an inch, and changed the smaller lights on the front to the larger hellas, and amber.
as for the conpliment... thanks. it means a lot. That's why it looks so obnoxious, people love it.
enjoy your car too!

The FIRST Mania turbo was expensive, had limited availability, and was sore on looks (with the buck-toothed intercooler).
I haven't seen any install pics of m7's yet, which will be sold through Mania soon.

I dont know why this turned into a M7 thread becaues Mini Mania cancelled their turbo Cooper kit long before they were even dealing with Peter.
I think they cancelled it because (from my research today) they learned that it was:
1. too expensive
2. drive train could NOT handle the power
3. could only produce 5psi without stronger bottom end and compression ratio
4. Engine Managment is not developed
5. Anyone still wanting all this would still achieve more power with a MCS for allot less money and headache.
6. Melted many power steering fans since its inches away from HOT exhaust, turbo etc...
From what I understand you MC guys out there better prepair yourself for the worst if you try anyones turbo KIT. Have 10k in reserves in the bank and an extra 6-8k to spend doing it right. A simple bolt on will not do.
Anyone short of building a race car would not be very smart doing this type of mod.
