If it's something you guys really want added this is not a problem to do. We appreciate your feedback so keep it coming!
It is, I've been working on turbocharged cars for many years, the brace is the difference between a 1-2 year downpipe & a 'lifetime' downpipe. Even 'minor' stress combined with serious heat and vibration will take its toll over time.

I'm going to assume you're referring to another Kris, but just in case, I'll start pestering our UPS driver on Monday

Exhaust Depot has already done it, so it's not impossible (as Alta might have you believe).

My car is at RISS

They'll have it for two weeks to final their O2 sim testing with the factory and ALTA turbo-back, complete their cat-back prototype (looks sweet) that will attach directly to any of their DPs, the factory DP and clear any SSK. They will attempt design and fabrication of an exhaust manifold (head to turbo) and intake manifold. Lots of work ahead for them, I'm not sure if two weeks is enough.

I was able to examine their finished products, prototypes and talk with them about their planned projects. Lots of potential out of these guys, the stuff they build is well executed and assembled.

With stock brackets?! I thought they said it was unnecessary. Did you make them change their minds?

Unless Jan decides to fab some new components for the R56, Riss looks like the go to guy for upgrading the engine components for R56! Hopefully everything proves itself and the RnD is well worth it.

Can't wait to see results!

They'll use my car to design their brackets and set up te jig. Anthony mentioned that the MINI engine moves enough that brackets are most likely of value.

Cool news on the brackets... One last question, will the catless downpipes smell like rotten eggs are something very obvious if I get pulled over by a California police officer? It would be a pity to get a ticket if I put on my catless downpipe going to or from the track...

Before I placed my order I explained I track the car and that I wouldn't feel comfortable without the brackets. They agreed and I'm looking forward to getting the finished product.

The company seems very open to working with the Mini community. Some of the things we talked about were intercoolers, water/meth injection systems, real COLD air intake, O2 sims, oil pressure & temp. gauges, an OCC designed for the R56, cams, tune, exhaust etc.

Let's hope they stay committed to the Mini community with quality products and good customer support. If they do, we the Mini community, need to support their efforts.

I'll keep you posted on the DP install and seat of the pants testing. My next track day is 7/10, so that will be the real test. Hope to also have a larger intercooler, (Helix) installed before then as well.

Cheers!

During the conversation with Riss Racing also mentioned the need for turbo upgrades that would bolt in. New turbo kits or hybrids would be nice but would need tunes that would deal with the change, otherwise, there useless.

The item I completely forgot about is a BRAKE duct cooling kit that would fit the R56 without the JCW aero kit. Now that would be sweet.

Cheers!

This is very true. We need to able to ultiize the great power we could net from this type of mod with a proper tune. Hopefully Jan can get better, stronger numbers and improve on his tune.

A very worthwhile mod for us track people! Very crucial in an environment where warping and fusing of the rotors and pads is common place.

I'll be dropping by the shop Friday AM to drop off a few pieces they need. In their move into the new shop their three-phase wiring was not installed - therefore they are behind in production as their equipment isn't powered.

I've got the Alta Turboback, like others have said, was the best performing system at the time but seeing this stuff makes me envious. The Alta has a primary and small secondary cat so the difference to going to be huge with a catless downpipe. What a great price too! I'm glad I don't live in California I can't wait to see more developments on this!

As long as the 02 sim works perfectly, I to will ditch my ALTA setup and, depending on numbers, will get this...

They are making the o2 sim to work with the alta also. So you will be able to keep your alta system and still have no cell.
