Stock bypass valve/check engine light

I have a r56 MCS that has several modifications: Alta FMIC, Alta CAI, Greddy Type-rs blow off valve.

Ever since I installed them they have been running fine until..

Yesterday, I was driving around and pushed the MINI to about 6000 rpm, when I heard this loud pop. then the engine seemed to become sluggish and the stock bypass valve could no longer be heard. After parking and restarting the engine, the check engine light came on.

Im assuming the car's stock bypass valve blew or something.

Btw, the car runs normal (no stalling or awkward engine idling) after this event. Just the CEL is on. Also, no strange sounds or boost leaks seem to be heard.

Has this ever happened to anyone? anyone know of a solution or what the problem may be?

I seriously doubt that. You probably blew off a pipe or coupler. If your car isn't making boost you won't hear the stock dv.

Greddy valves are notorious for leaking if they're not set quite right. Get the car scanned and look over all of your pipes, I really don't think you blew up your stock dv.

either way. something isnt right, since the stock dv is suppose to operate in normal boost conditions. I rechecked my pipes and seems like no leaks. idk. what do you think?

sounds like you blew off or almost blew off one of your intercooler tubes.

Check the hose coming off the turbo that goes to the intercooler. Chances are the clamp came loose from under it. It looks ok up top but under the silicon it comes off if you dont install it correctly.

Yeah, it took me a couple of tries to really get that tube suckered on. It was a terribly tight fit!
