Thanks Chris. I still lurk a bit, but with 2 kids under 5, a busy practice, a fearsome Ducati habit, and the usual commitments of life it's just so damn hard to post routinely.

I promise you guys, I will try to be more around! Between Kal, me, Brian, Hubie, Mike, Jay, and the others with conversions, hopefully we can help out and be of use to those looking at making their MINI all it can be!

Cheers mate,
Joel

Wow Brian looks like a huge amount of time and $$ went into that. You could have saved so much time and money by just running little DFIC .

Sorry I couldn't help myself.

In all seriousness I really really like it. I think it's an awesome design. I love the "out of the box thinking" to accomplish a difficult task . How is the cooling on both?? By raw are you meaning a trip to the polisher is coming?

It is really cool to see how your car has transformed and changed. Looks much better without all the stickers .

You know what those 14sec Mini owners are like

So when you out playing again? I bumped the Et to 11.7193 now which I know you can break with ease

Look forward to the new numbers

Honestly Paul I am over all the silliness and arguing that goes on. I am sure if someone who actually knew how to launch my car drove it, it should do a high 10 in perfect conditions but at this point there is nothing more to prove.

I actually bought an e30 bmw as my next project. I was planning to sell the mini but I still really enjoy that car so unless I get a really proper offer its here to stay.

Maybe some day i will take it to the drags again, I would like to take it to buttonwillow or willow springs too. I think for now I will just clean it up like it was before and enjoy it. Its nice having a car that has show and go and can actually be driven.

Take care Paul.

Brian,
Good to see you are still around some like me! The car is looking very nice BTW. I too am planning the switch away from the PWR and simply going to FMIC, and luckily living in northern AZ I can consider loosing the A/C to make it happen...LOL!

I've got into the ECU, disassembling the code now and finding some interesting stuff. Since we are using the same R56 microcontroller on our MEMS standalone, I have the instruction set learned and all the development tools. That encryption code to flash thru OBD II is pretty hard stuff. Bosch did a nice job . But we will figure it out. Don't want to say too much about it.... I am pretty sure you know why.

Hey Joel, I know what your saying about a Ducati habit. I have an 888 and an 851 that my wife would sell if I were to leave town for more than a week. She swears I live them more than her. Also, living in Mn I really only get to ride them 5-6 months of the year so I know what your taling about in regards to a money pit.

So so true. Luckily my girl is on a new 696 Monster so she has the addiction too....certainly makes it easier to argue for the little "additions" that seem to arrive every week from the brown truck guy....hahaha.

I have been on Ducs since the early 90's. but been riding since I was 3 so my bike "problem" preceded my MINI problem. Have gone through the Monster 750 and 900, a 748, a Multi, umm.....a short time with a 916.....wish I hadn't sold that one!

My 848 is currently in the shop getting some more work done. I try to do most of my work, but when it comes to braking and suspension I actually leave it up to the pros. Something about dropping from 170mph, throwing myself on a knee and hanging it off the bike....makes me too nervous to rely on my own expertise.

Once I get her all sorted this spring I will share some pics. Almost have all the non-engine work done so I can tear into that side of things this coming winter. I learned a long time ago, if you do the go fast parts first, especially on bikes, and don't sort the other stuff you increase your exposure to injusy way way too much. Will be as worked over as most full race bikes hopefully, and unfortunately probably as much into her as if I had just bought a 1098R....oh well!

Wussy....

Yeah it can be intimidating, but once u dive in there and do some research...it's not that bad...but of course falling on your head is never a good thing...

I'm totally aiding in the derailment, but since your a duc lover too, Street Fighter will be here in May....
