But of course
Hopefully will be with me early next week. Unfortunately mapping will be a little while yet while I save up!!

You should get a baseline dyno with your current map and new hybrid before you get the new mapping for the hybrid to see the difference.

I hope you atleast make 20whp more.

There's not really much to see from the outside of the turbo!
I'll put these pics up but they dont really show a lot!
Im gonna have a go at putting it on my car today, take measurements for the new intake pipe etc.

This turbo according to CR Turbos is capable of around 325bhp and can hold 1.6BAR (23psi)

Also found a great place that does custom mapping, so will hopefully be taking a trip down there in the next few weeks to get everything mapped correctly

CR have done a great job with the turbo, it looks brand new!

Good work mate. Do you wanna share who you've found? Is it still using the Mini ECU or some other system? Any reason you aren't going back to P-Torque?

Spoke with the company here in states with their machined stock turbo setup for the 07+ MINI. They said they have completed the the turbo and will have results by the end of this week as long as all goes to plan. The system is a complete bolt on, like Futureal's, and is machined with larger wheels.

They have not revealed the information on which setup they had used, but I'm sure once it works that they will. Hopefully I will get an email sooner rather than later.

I'll keep everyone posted on this progress as well

Cool beans mate

Im hopefully getting my turbo fitted on Wednesday... although I havent yet sorted myself an intake system.... so im not sure what to do yet... as the standard system is way too small now (the pics dont make it look that much different, but holding the intake pipe upto the new turbo is like comparing a drain pipe to a straw!

Nice! Should take some pictures pre-heat sheild install so we can see what it looks like with the intake pipe you put you...good stuff!

Whats the conversion to WHP from 325BHP? Anyone know?

Thanks!

EDIT: Found a conversion, but not sure if its correct. 325BHP is equal to 277WHP. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The closest approximation is to divide whp by .85 to get approx bhp. The reverse would work for bhp to whp.

Ok. That's what I read too. Wasn't sure if it was true or accurate.

So the turbo is capable of 276.25whp from the conversion, based on Futureal's mechanuc's specs. That would be tremendous to be able to utilize it all safely without having to change major internals.

If I get 275whp I would be a very happy man indeed lol.
My main concern is the power curve, not peak horsepower.

Im currently designing my intake system, my god what a nightmare. Im hoping to find some resolution tomorrow but its not look very easy! It would be as easy pie to just stick a standard K&N on the end of it, but I want it to be as professional as possible and connect to my DDM Works RIS CAI which is proving to be a bit more tricky!!
Currently looking at a mixture of red and aluminium. A red 90degree elbow off the turbo, connecting to a straight 275mm aluminium tube, connecting to a red 90degree alumium reducer elbow which in turn connects to my DDM Works Airbox....

Does anyone know if driving with no intake system (ie an OPEN TURBO) would be ok for approx 1mile ? I need to get my car home from the install shop but will not have my intake system ready by then, will it be ok if I take it easy coming home from there? It is literally 0.7 miles from my house

depends on where you are. Probably quite safe in the arctic, fairly safe on a wet day, and outright stupid in the desert during the middle of a dust storm.

I wouldn't try to build 20 lbs of boost no matter where you are without the filter.

That said, I'd probably do it if I were you and just not build any boost.

Even a cloth over the end with an elastic band would be better than nothing.....

Yeah, when you multiply 325bhp x.85 you equal 276.25whp.

I was just informed by one of the turbo places that is creating a hybrid that they will easily achieve 30whp. They did a prototype unit recently that had smaller wheels that made that and the one they are machining has larger wheels than the prototype. Getting very interesting!!

More updates to follow!
