I really can't understand with all of the information given by Shawn that you guys continue to "guess" with this hp calculator
you have a SAE corrected dyno that will tell you correctly what it is
you guys are some really stubborn people
I guess that kept you out of German occupation
True, but then we did have to call in the Yanks to help with the pesky germanians... thinking about it... german car (MINI), not making enough power (Lohen - English tuner), call to a yank (RMW) = loads of power.
I know, very stubborn and I hold a lot by what Shawn says, but I cant ignore the fact that everytime I dyno the car then go to the strip the math works so we'll just have to agree to dis-agree
nya nya nya nya nya nya My picollo is bigger, longer and harder than yours!!! nya nya nya
Guys I can't believe you went 18 pages over this. 18!!!!
Are you trying to set a record or something?

I think we need a few more pages to do it.... but we are getting there....
the fight for all intensive purposes has be proven now so it's more useless banter on the way
But you are talking about two completely different properties. Power and speed. It takes a certain amount of power to obtain a desired speed BUT there are many other variables to consider when trying to determine that amount of power. While a dyno is designed to do one job, determine the amount of power an engine can produce, with little to no variables involved.

I know, I'm just being an ***, would just love to see some performance figures to go with the dyno graphs is all.
People still think the 1/4 mile can accurately measure hp and tq......!
Do they not realize that dynos have been invented for just this kind of job.

Do they not realize that 0-60, 30-70, 0-100, 60-130, 1/4 mile & track times have been invented for just this kind of job.

Hmm. all I can add is, why do we mod our cars? We mod our engines to go faster and quicker no/yes? I think the answer is yes. So really a dyno slip is nothing other than a tool to see if what you have done works or dosen't work, but mainly to brag with. I see where the UK guy's are comming from, really dosen't matter what the dyno says if it dosen't make a diff. on the strip. I know, I know, there are other variables to it also, so no need to remind me. But it all comes down to, is your car quicker and faster? I mean my car seems quick to me, coudn't imagine being hugely different with 30 hp, but maybe i'm wrong? Thats my 02. BTW Bigshot, dynos do have many variables also.

All good points, but the varibles are virtually non-existent when using the same dyno. Inconsistentsies are really only between different ones.
