The idle in mine is deep and thumpy. When cruising through parking structures I set off cars alarms just idling in first gear .

Gotta love it.

it definitely doesn't have a major lope like high-end cams do... but mine has this very mild, kinda sexy lope that definitely isn't stock. Most folks won't notice - but it bounces around between 725 and 800 RPM... you could raise idle just a bit and it would be smooth, I think.
Maybe it's more noticeable with the automatic?

It also appears that I'm running rich at idle... so may be an issue with my current tune...

That is a massive difference in volume!!

Am looking at running the RMW header on my JCW - kinda worried it may be too loud for a daily user??

Does it behave ( ) when not at WOT? Also, is there a significant difference in sound when cruising at 70mph?

It "behaves" when driving sanely - but the exhaust is definitely deeper and louder at all RPMS - PM davisflyer if he doesn't respond, he has a JCW w/ JCW exhaust and the RMW header - he can comment best on highway cruising speeds, etc. I've only heard his car on the track. :-)

davisflyer's posts, his thoughts on the cam / header combo were a major convincing factor for me when I decided to order the RMW cam / street header.

At 70mph, I can hear the exhaust, but it does NOT drone. Of course, as soon as you put a load on it, like going up a steep hill, it does get louder. I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me. Again, you will hear it though. If I had to assign a number, I'd say it was 15% louder at 70mph.

Here is another video. In the beginning I'm doing 3000 rpm w/windows up, then down and WOT into the tunnel and then 55 out of the tunnel.

Thank you sir.

That particular video was taken with a cheap compact camera, hence the poor sound quality.

Paul, are you going to Summit Point in April?

Keano - sent you a PM. I see you already have a GP IC. OK looks like you are leaning towards the RMW manifold and keeping your JCW catback. Have you ever looked at the GTT manifold. Not to go off topic but being in the UK it may be a better option?

Replied ta.

Have found a RMW shorty in the UK!! How much do you all think a 2nd hand header with 4k miles on it is worth? If I get it I will add a video to this thread!

Time to revive this old thread, just for a laugh.
