quick question: rmw tune + pulley size

im ordering a pulley, and wondering.. will 15% or 17% be better for a RMW tune.. so far i mostly only see 15% pulley, i guess it's a all rounder pulley, better for tune? i rmb some 17% problems with like boost issues or w/e problems it had to make 15% more desirable?

or should i just go with the 17% anyways, cause who doesn't like more power?
can someone guide me a little through this?

thanks
jeremy!

Jan always recommends a 15% on a stock head. You can get some higher revs if you go to the JCW injectors with it. The best person to talk to about it though is Jan.

I'm in the same position as you. Spoke to jan, he recommends 15% helix.

I had a 16% M7 'cause that's what Dan at GrassRoots Garage had laying around when I was there one time ;-) and had him put the JCW 380s in the day of our Jan tune, and performance is great.

Paul/BlimeyCabrio just got the RMW header and now "we" all want one, too! Get that too, if you can afford it!

hopefully the header will be my next mod if santa thinks i'm a good boy~ and since school and the economy isn't exactly helping anyone at this time

now that i hv some mods.. hopefully i can lay out a good setup to run with:
invidia exhaust, alta intake > pulley, sparks (1 step colder) > injectors + headers> and more hopefully~

19% and GIAC
How much difference would a RMW tune make opposed to GIAC?

It will make a big difference. This is a before and after dyno of our car going from the RMW Head, GIAC flash, stock injectors, and 15% pulley to the RMW tune and 440cc injectors:

Basically 23 whp and 8ft/lbs of torque. Jan will tune your car with whatever you have or want on it. I talked to him about a 19%, but he strongly discouraged it because of cooling the intake and only thought the 17% that we added later was good because we got a GP intercooler. He did reduce the max RPM from 8k to 7500 k because of the increased pulley rpm's.

440cc injectors were for the RMW head, so if you have a stock head, then the max with the 15% would be 380cc
