M7 Vortex Scoop with DDM Race Intake

Hey all,

Im looking to get the M7 Vortex Scoop - just wondering if anyone knows if I will have any problems with it as I have a DDM Works Race Intake System installed... will the 2 fit together properly?

Also - has anyone noticed with the M7 Scoop that the windscreen washers dont work anymore? I had one similar on my R53 and immediately the washers completely missed my windscreen at anything from 45mph upwards - guessed it screwed with the airflow over the bonnet - anyone experienced this?

Cheers!

I haven't tried using my washers at speed, so I can't answer that one for ya. But as for the DDM working with the Vortex, I wouldn't see any problems. I had the DDM Ram Air piece but sold it, so I remember how it mounted and it wouldn't be a problem.

i got the scoop.

in regards to using the washers, i was on a road trip from L.A. to seatle washington by myself and there were insane amount of bugs for some reason on the 5. i used the washers many times but there were no issues. it worked perfectly fine. so no worries about it.

i remember prior to having the scoop that when i opened up my engine bay after a short 20 minute trip, it would be hot.

then after with the scoop installed, it was not as hot compared to when i did not have the scoop installed. so to me it was a well worth mod. i like it a lot. i wish i had gotten the CF one though. but im happy all in all

Is it possible to quantify the reduction in hood temps? Just curious.

are you saying can i provide data?

i dont have the means or the knowledge on how to use that type of stuff but to me, i like it regardless if it did work or not. it adds a very very clean look to our already clean looking mini

Nammerz, no issues. Sometimes people have data that they measure. I just like to look at the numbers to understand a few things. M7 is a good company and I have many of their parts. To me, getting information from the users is more important and accurate.
