Drivetrain MINI Madness R56 Software Tuning and Performance Packages
OK, time for me to chime in here........ I am the other one that Thumper is referring to who had Dynocomp custom tune my chip on the dyno.
You may remember about a few months ago I posted my dyno results for the unichip. Since then I have had issues with the unichip (kept on getting limp mode, you have probably seen my posts). Since then ALTA STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE and got me a refund
(and won back a customer!!)
Anyways I had the new evotech tune installed (the same one that mini madness has) but mine was actually installed and dyno tuned by dynocomp. They were on the phone with the company in Germany doing the tuning while on the dyno and making it custom for my car. The install went on for about 45 minutes with them running the dyno, getting the results and taking to the tech, they would then tweak the ECU and rerun the dyno etc....The results are pretty impressive +25hp & just over 30tq. NO CEL's or ANY problems at all (going on a month now!) Plus it’s totally transparent to the dealer, so no issues if I have to take it in for service. Just thought you might like to know about it. It definitely needs to be installed by a company that can tune it on a dyno to get max performance!
BTW I have being shipped to me Alta's intake, boost tube & inlet tube. As soon as I get them I will be stopping by Dynocomp to install, and if possible do some before/after dyno runs..

Deadringer, you used to have the unichip right? does the evotech tune seem like it has more or less power than the unichip, (if the unichip was working perfect)? Because i have the unichip and it has had no problems. would this be an upgrade for me? are they in arizona?
here are the differences:
- Unichip
- 155 -> 165 (+10 hp)
- 170 -> 195tq (+25tq)
- Evotech
- 151 -> 179 (+28hp)
- 171 ->205 (+34tq)
lets just say I received "special pricing", I have done a lot of business with Richard in the past. To be honest I dont remember how much it was out the door, but I know it was less than $850 WITH the dyno time..
We have a buy it once policy and always have. Basically it works like this, buy the software today for what you have. 6 Months from now Cams are available, this would obviously require a new tune. Simply send us back the ECU for retuning and only pay for the shipping. Pretty simply
In the next 3 weeks we will be testing 3 different cam grinds. Each one will have a different software version to go with it.
Hope this helps
