Um Lynn....

There is NO information on the head, only a lot of babble about other things. Go look.

So guys he (gnatster) thinks this thread is a lot of babble.

What I got out of the "babble" is one person who seem to voluntary his Mini for testing got less then what he expected. The word used was "prototype" In my world there are many "prototypes" before the final result is established. I just wanted to know what was bad on the head?

Seems to me to be a lot of redirection from this question. Wonder why?

First off.... why do YOU need to know? What makes you special enough to know? There were many heads sold before ingsoc got his, so how many is prototype? When you don't supply info to people when you sell parts this is the end results.

At the time the head may have been the cats meow, that cat has died. New cats have been been born and can meow better for not much more money.

It all goes back to the hype machine that M7 is. The head has a respected name, yet there are no flow charts, heck there is not even a description of whats done to the head just a blurb about Cosworth. For all we know they take an OEM head, do a little grinding here and there and button it all back up using the same parts they took off. Does it have new springs, valves etc etc.

The main point of my post here is to inform the OP that he/she/it needs to do more research before dropping that kind of cash. There may be better alternatives than the 2 he/she/it is looking at.
I'd like to know how you say you are a MOD, you suck at moderating. A moderator should have an impartial intrest in a discusion. I'm sure glad you aren't in our judicial system.

You twist my words yet again

This is the babble I speak of....

Lots of text about Cosworth, nothing of substance. Much like your posts Lynn. And yes that's from MR MOD as you want to call me.

Mods are not allowed to have opinions?

Where is it said that mods have to be impartial?

this phenomenon usually happens when people post info with no supporting data to show some sort of proof. People are tired of it and are expressing their views. It's good, we are finally getting somewhere here on NAM after years of selling parts with no proof.

I see NAM advancing in the right direction.... it's a good thing

btw... no msd coilpacks were harmed in this discussion

This is from Webster dictionary:

1: one who arbitrates : mediator2: one who presides over an assembly, meeting, or discussion: as a: the presiding officer of a Presbyterian governing body b: the nonpartisan presiding officer of a town meeting c: the chairman of a discussion group

Of course M7 has no figures on their site now so is in effect making no claims what spending 6K will bring.

Lets be generous and call it 250BHP or at the crank. Then lets be generous again and figure a 15% driveline loss. So we get a total of 212, rounding down. Then we have Steve's figures and we'll go with the best one and round up, again being generous, to 198. A difference of 14HP. Being Steve says the dyno he used is low we'll again be generous and figure the M7 one as high. Given all that generosity I think we can see the M7 is close to making the 250. Guess all it really needs is the correct tune thats been coming for how many years now?
Yes you are correct. And those kind of tunes just in the past year HAVE become available. P.S. it's interesting how many people are viewing this thread RIGHT now

1. It's not the big valve head we are talking about...that is a $2k option. The page for the kit does not specify the head as big valve and a core charge for the head is required while there is no core charge for the big valve head.

2. From Webopedia

In online forums and other online discussion spaces the moderator has the authority to block messages deemed inappropriate or break the rules of that discussion space. Moderators generally try to keep users on topic and keep the discussion thread or chat room free of personal insults and derogatory comments.
Websters is out of touch with the internet forum usage.

And I'm sure one can go find instances where I have made personal insults and derogatory comments. I'm not perfect.

I get sarcasm, I'm just unsure of which fan-hitting event you're being sarcastic about.
