For all those that say this exhaust drones are just overly sensitive. This thing barely makes any noise when cruising at highway speeds. Louder then the JCW but, definitly quieter then my Spec V. That thing was so loud you could not have a conversation with the person in the backseat.

Last thing if you don't want drone stick with the stock exhaust or get the JCW and quit complaining.

Overly sensitive my a$$...lol

I drove it 200 miles and was about deaf, and had a splitting headache.

Too bad, because it sounded awesome at wot, but was horrible around town.

Yeah too sensitive. I can barely hear mine. Sounds like you one of those clamps come loose and had an exhaust leak. Most likely around the DP with that useles Vband. It happens. Also it gets really loud when you get into boost a like half throttle or when the wastegate opens up. Just saying.

Hey MinMin,

Not a fan of the NM Eng Exhaust, basically due to the price, but your overall exterior appearance of your whip, is absolutely amazing. Loving every bit of it.

Coilovers or Springs? What brand Coilovers if they are what you installed? How much of a drop?

Where did you get that rear diffuser and did you have to cut to install it? Same goes for your front lip, where did you get that at?

I don't like the front lips where you have to install bars or brackets.

I agree that the drone issue is bull....

Mine was horrible until breaking in everything. After about 500 miles or so, it mellowed out and I was fine.

Of course, I sold my old car and got a 2012. Time for new mods! I am thinking of sticking with the resonator delete this time around. The way it changes the sound is AMAZING. Very surprising for something you can do in your garage in about 15 minutes with a piece of stainless pipe, a saws-all, and a welder.

So I said the hell with it and got the Invidia along with the Forge FMIC for my R58 S.

All I can say is this thing BOOOMS! I love it. It's way better
then stock, and it covers up the crappy engine sound...these 2nd Gens
sound like John Deere tractors

A lot of smoke but that'll clear up quick.

It's a great exhaust and it is VERY reasonably priced

*** I did have to cut a quarter inch off from where it connects to the down pipe, but that was an easy task.

Interesting, must be an R58 thing. We had to cut down the connection to the downpipe to fit it as well. Sounds great, looks great. Not enough pictures in this thread, so here are a few!

Also went in on the BSH Torque Mount - huge difference in engine control!

Awesome, I never did post pictures of mine.

Did you reinstall the plate?
I took it off because at idle the exhaust would hit it and cause this annoying rattle.

Yes, reinstalled the plate last. Not having issues so far. I gave my guy who did the install the feedback that there had been feedback about loose clamps... so we did a lot to ensure that they wouldn't loosen up.

Use 3-4 washers on the four mounting bolts for the exhaust hangers and that will perfectly lower thw exhaust tips down.

Yeah, the one where it's on the rack isn't a finished picture.

If you notice on the after pictures, we made adjustments to ensure it was dead center and not hitting the valence.

Yea, if you spin the center piece of the exhaust it points the tips in either direction. Once it's dead center just clamp that mother down and you're set lol!

Yeah, I luckily was able to get it installed with a friend who works at a professional shop - so we had all of the nice air tools at our disposal. We replaced the bolts and nuts in the clamps, locked them down super tight, then he added a second nut for safety to ensure it didn't loosen up.

I'm pretty confident it isn't going anywhere.

well, if anyone has the pipe banging against the X-brace or removed the brace because it the exhaust was hitting it. I changed out the front rubber hangers to a shorter one and mine doesn't bang against it anymore. The cabin is also quieter, less booming now. I think the proximity or the b pipe vibrating against the brace was causing some resonance inside the cabin.

These are the ones I used. They're slightly shorter than OEM, so it brings the front up just enough for about 1/4" clearance at the rear of the brace.

Q300 Installed

I managed to get my Q300 installed today in about 3 hours. Had some issues with the V Clamp being rusty and stuck, but once I got that off things went smooth. I'm going to order the shorter hangers like the last poster did since the front ones are very compressed and not a good fit at all now, then I'll re-install the brace. I did also have to cut off about half of the tube (1cm or so) forward of where the v clamp goes. There was no way it was going to fit as there was to much metal sticking in the DP and it wouldn't go in enough to attach the V clamp.

My first impressions are very positive. Has a great tone at start up and shut down and isn't much much louder than stock at my normal cruising speeds of between 130-160 kph. Even at 100 kph it quiets down nicely in 5th or 6th.

Its defiantly louder at low speeds while your shifting through the gears up to 4th then quiets down after that/ Also louder when your accelerating.

for the Invedia Q300 on a 2010 MCS.

So I'm not sure if this was answered yet, but does installing this exhaust along with a CAI throw a CE light?

Nope neither. Only a DP will throw you the CEL.

No unless something like the MAF or O2 sensor break.

Sorry for a reply to an older post.

The pipe itself wasn't banging on my TSW X-brace. Rather, it was the exhaust 'fingers' coming off the pipe that attach to the rubber hangers. I ended up taking a dremel and cutting off ~ .25" off the tips of both 'fingers' and retained the OEM rubber hangers.
