upper engine bushing install

just wondering if anyone's tackled the job?

its pretty easy to drop the bushing in from the top, but its hard to see the one at the bottom, is there any way to remove the bushing carrier out of the car?

im only talking about the big bushing, not the small one, the big one that sits on a carrier mounted to the body

Remove the 2 bolts, slide engine steady out medially. Install inserts and re-install engine steady by sliding it back into place.

i re-attempted the install, took the mount out, and put the bushing in, but it didn't go in, i couldn't get the black 'clamp' back on after installing the bushing

am i missing something? do i need a press for the job? it just won't go in, let alone put the washer in

I had to bend the black bracket out a little so it had more space to fit over the inserts

You won't have to custom make anything since you have an 06 and don't have the same motor mount. Look for the one from VIP
