Changed plugs and wires, whats next!!!???

okay, so my R53 has been acting up a bit as of late, has trouble turning over, miss firing at WOT. So i changed plugs and wires, and while changing them i noticed that my intercooler couplers were dry rotted and cracked, so got some new ALTA ones.

so after installing all the new parts, NOT A DAMN DIFFERENCE!!!!!

so my question is do i need a new coil?? or what???
thanks....
Ryan

Has the car been modded? Has it been properly maintained? Do you have a CEL on? More details would be a big help....

as hemiheaded said, more details. sounds like a fuel problem, but with such limited info its a 100% guess.

Possible high RPM lean out is a choice, but again, 100% guess.

Trouble starting = compression usually. Run a compression/leakdown test.

How many miles do you have on your car?

i've got 71k on the car. CEL light has been on since i put my header on (no cat) also has 17% pully, alta exhaust, CAI, walbro 255 fuel pump.
the car is well maintained by myself.
when driving it tonight i noticed that if you don't just mash it to the floor, it's fine, but 3/4 to WOT it skipps and hic-ups, as soon as you let out it shoots flames out the back. idle is not rough, nor does it miss when revved with no load.

A lot of mods and no tune? That could be your culprit right there. With those mods and no tune, it could be in safe mode.

Run a compression check and leakdown...

things i'd check;
compression
header install rather for exhaust leaks
map sensor (either get a new one or hit the current with carb cleaner)
injectors gummed up? (not sure about this one... highly unlikely)

Perhaps it's your belt slipping on the supercharger pully? I have a 17% reduction also and was having a similar problem with boost spikes at WOT. Went to see Chad at Detroit Tuned, installed new/shorter Belt, no more spikes!

Wait, so flames aren't supposed to shoot out the back?

UPDATE::: ruled it down to a fuel problem..... whenever i take LEFT turns my car falls on it's face and bucks hard. if i make a LEFT u-turn, it completly shuts down! once i straighten back up, it kicks back in. so i think i'm gonna take out the walbro255 and put the stock pump back in. and hope for the best
