so by adding an RMW head you will lose boost? Is that correct. We want a supercharger in our cars for higher horsepower numbers but we don't want it making too much boost because then we lose hp? I'm confused...did I miss something. Can't we increase boost while lowering intake temps?? Isn't that the "marketing objective" of a/m IC's? I understand increasing boost creates more heat...I know that, but since when is increasing boost a "bad" thing?

Boost is a measurement of restriction. For a given CFM out of the supercharger, assuming no leaks and proper mechanical systems, the lower the boost reading the more hp you will make.

And many more who have not posted here, but with whom I have heard from and talked to.

Not all of the "pro's" waste time trying to educate the masses via the internet.

It is looking very bad that neither Alta nor M7 are posting information to defend their products. I don't get it. At the end of the day the company that under promises and over delivers will get the business. I thought that M7 had a lot of data about their DFIC.

Maybe there are new members that would like to see the data.

I disagree - If you post the M7 DFIC data there will be some flaming but M7 will gain a lot of respect. Please, please post the data. It will be good for the MINI community and good for M7. No one is expecting any significant performance gains from any IC on the market so the downside risk is nil.

I am just making a post to set a time stamp. Per Gnatster's suggestion I will now wait 72 hrs (3 days).

I tell you what I'll do, I will ask "Intense" if he is open to receive a datalogging unit and all the necessary probes to do an independent
comparison of all the IC's that he has....fair enough.

Will there be a testing program written and published before this begins?

I'm certainly open to to it Peter Like I've said previously, I would have loved having some equipment the first time I compared the intercoolers. I make a pretty good salary a year but buying data logging equipment for one time use I just couldn't bring myself to do

I currently have the M7 DFICV2 and the stock intercooler. I sold my GRS to a friend of mine but I'm sure I could borrow it for testing.

I appreciate your offer and willingness to go to bat Peter

This is awesome. Now I hope the M7 trashers can control themsevles until the testing is complete.

Yes, BUT aren't you -

a) running rotex which produces less heat ?
b) a custom IC ?

Are you claiming the head produced these results?

If the testing program is valid and the tests repeatable, there's no reason for the "trashers" to complain.

keep in mind everyone, I'm just a mini enthusiast with a 9-5 like most of you. I'm no testing expert, I don't do this for a living. I don't race or track my car.

I will make sure the tests are identical as possible. Damn posting in an iPhone sucks at times
