Awesome numbers guys!

You guys wouldn't believe it...my car developed a weird noise today when I drove to get my injectors and belt changed. It sounds like a fan/motor spinning down when I simply lift off the gas and let the car slow down at around 35km/h. Tried with A/C on and off. Most audible when I'm in 2nd, and is more faint in other gears like 3rd. I went to my dealership right away to have a very helpful tech ride with me. He, too, had no idea what the noise was other than guessing it may be noise coming from the LSD due to the first gen transmission fluid. He booked me in for the fluid change next Thurs. However, he said I shouldn't worry too much and it should be good to go for tomorrow, even though it's a 3hr drive. So I'm still coming!

I have a favour to ask. Could one of you who's gonna be around tomorrow give me your phone number in case anything happens along the way and I'm stranded? You can PM me if you prefer to do so. Cheers!

FYI, Jan said '05, '06 have much tighter engine tolerance from factory compare to pre '05 cars. With the same mods '05, '06 could make more than 20~30hp compare to pre '05 cars. And the results I saw today while I was there is very much true to that effect. So don't be disappointed when your pre '05 car don't pull big number like Searocko and Fingershooter.

BTW: For those that have EvoTech tune from MiniMadness please check the other thread I'm starting and PM me. thx

If we have a chart for $ spent / HP. Searocko would be on the top of the totem pole , while I'll be at the bottom.

Do you still have the Mini Roadside assistance under your warranty? Mine expires after this Saturday.
I suggest to have this fixed first as your car will be run hard during the session.

I am expecting my base to be low due to the Shark software (dumps fuel) + the 380 cc injectors but my faith is on Jan to meet or exceed my objective of 190 whp & across the band tq gain. From the beginning, my objective is to beat the numbers of stock JCW (HP, TQ, Acceleration) at less than half the price. Cross-fingers 'till Saturday.

PM # sent-
If they can't fix it, chance it. Don't pass this up! I can't wait to throw my beast up on that dyno. Is it just me or are Jan's #s getting better? Maybe he is more practiced up for us

My warranty and therefore roadside assistance is still effective. I would definitely like to have it fixed first, but by then Jan will be probably be gone. I drove it hard for a little while after i discovered the noise...drives completely fine . Thanks for the suggestion though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks again to those who offered their numbers!

Are they using a fan on the IC/engine during the pulls?

I was the last car today, so I'm posting late.
2005 MCSc
Dinan CAI
Miltek Catback Exhaust
17% pulley
380 injectors
GP intercooler
NGK BKR7EQUP

Initial pull HP 190.1 @ 6302 Final pull 200.8 @ 7200
TQ 182.3 @ 3653 185.0 @ 3786

In addition to the tune, Jan adjusts the electronic throttle response to react quicker. The torque peak didn't change much, but the curve is much broader and the car runs great. My car had some pinging issues at about 3800 rpm that took Jan several pulls to sort out but he smoothed it out. Total Dyno time about 1.5 hrs. There were 2 no shows today, but they were running behind and it worked out good for me being last. Coll

Yep, and they spray it down between runs too.

Should be 100% doable. I've been watching RMW tune results since I've had a Mini, and with the mods we *both* have (15%, CAI, exhaust/1-ball, injectors) cars tend to make 204-206 whp with an RMW tune... like clockwork. Virtually no one does an intercooler so I am anxious to see if they are really as BAD as everyone says they are!

If you act now, you can get a sprint booster and a turbonator for a special as seen on TV price, But only the first 50 callers.

Why spend $350 on an RMW tune when for $50 more you can make less power?

I went to microsoft virtual map. From SR-16 it is hard to see the exit 1C going to Center Street. Is it easy to see?

My road plan is this:
Coming from north,
1. I5
2. Take exit 132
3. Merge to SR-16
4. Take exit 1C & ramp right to Center St.
5. From Regent Blvd, right on 24th st.
6. Right on 70th Ave.

Input and corrections are appreciated.

Ed

Yes it is easy to see, and your directions look to be right on.
