Sharkedit tune from Jim C. ($299 and details)

Some info for you guys from Jimmy C.

It wasn't.

What was is better - IMNSHO

Today we introduced "Shark Edit"

Shark Edit is a ECU editor software that will allow YOU to tune your own 335i.

(or M3, or M5, or 745, or X5.. you get the picture )

Why did I release this.

Because some of you want to tune your car to different boost levels and
different combinations of hardware parts.

We will be releasing the OBD-I version of this software to sale on 01 JUN 08
and the OBD-II version (aka 335i) on 01 JUL 08.

We will package it both alone, and with a "base tune".

You can calibrate your car to your desired boost level and flash it back
in the convenience of your own home/garage.

You can flash back the stock info at your convenience.

I'd love to talk more about it - but to be honest - I'm starving and I'm going
to go w/ my friends and grab some FOOD.

I'll be home tomorrow evening and will be back in the saddle Monday.

For those who were not there - you can see the "glossy" that was
available at Bimmerfest 2008 in a hidden directory on my website.

Located at: http://www.bonnevillemotorwerks.com/sharkedt/

Enjoy - and those who are here - come to Q's tonite at 9

This looks interesting especially with the EMS2000 being one of the compatible ECU's

The thing about this deal is that its not so much the plug and play injector deal you can get from Turner Motorsports its a bit more then that you buy the tuning software+cable and according to those PDF's its $300 then you have to purchase the Flash Pac for EMS2000 which has the MAP file, checksum, and manual for $100. It may just be some sort of low level DIY tuning software some what like PowerProg and by low level it won't allow you to access the higher levels like Dimsports software that Jan uses to tune. Just going on assumptions from reading the PDF's that OP linked. I am just as much curious as everyone else. Is this the beginning of DIY tuning for the MINI like a lot of other makes out there have available like GM (hptuner), Subaru (OpenECU?), and Honda (Walmart). Off the thread subject but I would like to see someone get the Hydra EMS plug and play standalone parallel with factory ecu application ( factory ecu retains "CAN" functions like the dash, climate, etc) (hydra has full control of the motor) Hydra is a pretty penny in price $1950 but if experienced and know how to use the software you can do what Dimsport does to the factory ECU and then SOME.

Actually it looks like you will be able to tune most parameters...not much info at the moment but worth keeping an eye on .... see http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=139154&page=3

you will have to browse the posts and take some with a pinch of salt but this is where jim lndshrk has been posting sometimes!

You can load the maps with shark injector, but you can use premade maps from jim or tune yourself or PRO tuners will probally start creating maps we can use.... bring on the tuning partys... and some brave people may tune there own (scary) but possible!
