can old belt cause power loss?

hey i've searched the site but cant seem to find an answer. can an old supercharger belt cause power loss? i have an upgraded 19% pulley with about 20,000 miles on the belt, almost two years on the car. my car doesnt seem as fast as it used to, now i know this happens when you drive the car for a few years, but honestly, i remember the pull it used to have when i first installed it.plus, i'm losing more stoplight races now anybody know?

do a search on belt size etc. you'll find photos of where you want the holes of the metal slider on the tentioner to show . this relates to the amount of stretch . if a hole doesnt show above the tentioner spring you should change the belt .

Also check the plugs. With a 19% pulley, they might be out of the proper heat range for that much boost.

Regardless of the pulley and belt size you use these suckers stretch and slip which translates to power loss. You know that there is a gauge on the belt tensioner that will give you an indication but my was slipping even though it indicated that the tension was still good. I basically change belts once a year.

Helped a friend to change his belt and he gained 2 lbs of boost with a year old belt. That was with a 15% pulley.
We could not do mine because the tool broke.

While the others have given additional things to look at, changing the belt will likely help.
