Dimsport Software in Roundel Magazine

I just finished reading the Bimmer Lite (MINI) column in the February, 2008 issue of Roundel, the official magazine of the BMW Car Club of America. The article recommends the Dimsport software as an effective way to get the MINI to perform optimally with any modifications:

"The bottom line is that the only way to get a Mini to perform optimally with any modifications, the ECU needs to be custom-tuned. One effective way to do that is with Dimsport software: Find an outfit with it, set up an appointment, and they'll cook up an ECU tuned specifically for your application."

Jan, at Revolution Mini Works, tuned my car with the Dimsport software in December. The tune increased the TQ, HP, driveability and got rid of that annoying 3,000 rpm flat spot. The custom tune along with the supercharger pulley are the best bangs for your performance buck.

Talked with the Dimsport people at SEMA

and it's interesting that there are other players in Europe that haven't crossed the pond, so to speak. Also, there are other ways to crack the code, but they aren't used here either. But the Dimsport stuff is cooking up some good results, that's for sure!

WFIW, mbcoop is the guy who writes the column... I think that's his handle here.

No.

Emil somethingorother is the US Dimsport rep for Mini. Jan has it, LuckyDogGarage (I think the name has changed) has it. Others do as well. Don't have a full list.

Check out my letter to the editor which is published in the new issue of Roundel. Kudos to MiniCorsa, CCC, and RMW. They all deserve it.
