OUCH! But hey everyone has their opinions. What about it don't you like out of curiosity? (It is FAR blacker in person vs. the photos shown.)

I think I actually like the single tip more. It fits the molding of the rear better and I like the simplicity.

im not a fan of the oval single tip... it just looks funny imho.

I do however like the idea of a single tip but i think milltek's prototype looks waaaay better.

I think both stealth and otherwise would lok WAY better ( IMHO ) if the internal part of the pipe and the back section of the muffler inside the pipe where matt black.
To me, again IMHO, I do not like to see the small openeing in the muffler as it makes it, IMHO, look lame as iff you took a 1000cc motor and put a 3" exhaust on it... I think the term is "ricey" ?

Again, just my own personal 2c but I have had many custom exhausts on various European cars for 20 years.

The batches of next shipment Stealth (working on polished as well) will have the inner portions powdered. More photos coming soon.

(EDIT 3/18/09 One client felt the above statement was construed as ALL the tips would be powdered on the inside regardless of polished or Stealth. We were unable to just powder the inside of the polished versions as the part has to be chemically stripped and bead blasted prior to coating. That process marred and destroyed the polished sections of the tips/muffler etc. We will NOT be powdering the inside of the tips on the polished versions and instead only on the Stealth. It should be noted that the soot created by the car is more than enough to "coat" the inside of any of the tips black. Hope that helps for any other potential clients. Thank you as always!)

I uses some matt black high temperature stove paint and painted the flat surface inside the oval tip - I left the curved inside edge alone. I like the results:

^ I'm sorry! I ordered mine 2/19, so its abouts time!

On a side note, that oval tip looks a million times better with the inside painted. And where did you get the Alta plate frame? I'd totally rock one of those (if they were free... Theres prime advertising space back there Adam!)

They should be in the exhaust box. (most products that they fit in, they ship in for free.)

Just out of curiosity...and this may sound like a really stupid question, but will installing this exhaust void warranty? I'm sure that it probably will, as they do like to bust ***** about everything, but it's also an external to the motor. I'm just worried about putting this on my ride, then getting lucky enough to hear that terrible "Cold Start Chatter" or some other misfortune requiring me to bring my car in

Sometimes it's down to the dealer you visit - some aren't bothered about any mods and some can be difficult about it. Unless a problem is directly caused by the Alta catback I can't see if voiding the warranty for the rest of the car.

Just installed my turboback last night. Sounds great. A little quieter than I anticipated, but it's pretty close to perfect. Nice raspy deep growl! I went with the single tip. At first I had second thoughts, but I think it looks better overall. I agree the blacked out inside looks better. The thing is though, the pictures posted here of it are all from the ground. You're not going to be looking at it from that angle. From a standing point of view I think it looks absolutely fantastic. I'll try and post some pics soon. BTW- none of these installs are all that "easy" or "quick"! I had a private jet/airplane mechanic do mine with my assisting him and it took about four hours. He also does all the work on his cars. He did a very professional job, and getting all the back stuff on was pretty simple, but getting the first part on that connects to the turbo was a pain in the *** as far as getting to screws (mostly the heatsheild stuff). Great results though and highly recommended!

I agree with the comments on the oval tip. Now that I have painted the inside of my tip I think it looks great. I have a Borla exhaust on my 02 MCS - the dual tips were larger than stock but you have to know MINIs to know what is there. This tip is a big mean looking opening that is anything but stock.
