ive been told 12.o was a safe AFR to run before are you playing it extra safe or is 11.0 really all you would want to run on a street car for reliability? Im verry impressed despite how i may feel about my past ECU research on NAM. Id probably go with your tune if I was local to you I just like the idea of knowing if something went awful i could limp to my tuner. Reliability is really important as my car seesabout 100-150 miles a day during the week.
Again congrats and Jan thats impressive but it speaks for its self.

ps- that hesitation at the light was what i was feeling before i got the new SC installed musta helped with my fuel or sumthin
It was like cutting the chain to an anchor behind you. Jan changed the throttle take-up as well and the throttle was way more smooth and immediate, like taking out the slack on a cable throttle linkage and greasing it up alot. Make sense?
Gaaaah!!! Makes total sense. Your "before" sounds exactly like what my car feels like now. If we get a Bay Area day set up, I'm sooooo there. I spoke with Jan and Longboard down at AMVIV last March about doing this - I'm glad to see it's happening, and that it's working.
Any news if additional dates will be added for Helix next month?
I am #1 on the wait-list.
LOL... funny you ask,
I just hung up with Eric at Helix... we are going to add more dates...
not sure how my wife is going to like this but it looks like I will be in Philly for a week..
I will get a chance to check out the local brewery's!
Jan, What is usually done to get more power from a car that already has a good air to fuel ratio? I thought I needed a tune but I put my car on a dyno for the first time last weekend and ran a 210hp 171tq. Is a tune ever a waste of investment? Should I look into a tune? I have the Dinan 6 software currently.

based on your mods and if your car is healthy, there is another 10-20whp in it

I'll keep your wife happy for you for a week in exchange for a tune.
REMEMBER:::::: THIS IS THE DYNO THAT SHOWS 1 A/F LEANER THAN IT IS
So you need to add 1 whole a/f to each number that is represented
Their other dynapack reads dead on. This is one of the first dynapacks ever sold
Jan - was my car tuned on the "1 pt off" dyno? Wouln't that help explain the initial lean AFRs at redline. BTW, do I still hold the RMW record for max WHP and TQ for a MINI w/ basic mods?

My 2005 MINI w/ basic mods (15% pulley, CAI, exhaust) was already a very stong car before the RMW tune. The RMW tuned only increased the TQ and HP a bit but significantly altered the area under the torque curve to make the car much faster from 3,000 to about 6,000 rpm. This is more important for drivability than peak HP and TQ. Jan's tune was the best bank for buck I have spent so far - equivalent to the SC pulley.
