Drivetrain Front Intercooler
Randy imported it..... you will need a set of ear plugs to run it...
one of the guys in our club has one, it has taken him 4yrs to get it to work right without leaking but we tuned it and it made some reliable power

It was made by a south african company called dastek I think...

but their motors rock side to side - not front to back. Might be easier to control the stress on parts due to this?
Chris.
PS has anyone got any side shot to see how much room you have to work with??

There are quite a few posts on NAM about this system, although it might be hard to find using the search feature. Most often associated with Randy Webb. I saw a few cars with this system, including Randy's mule race car. It was incredibly loud, with a very unique sound. I saw the SoCal owner at the race track in Las Vegas 2 AMVIVs ago, but it only lasted a couple of laps each time before throwing the couplings. As Jan says, they must have got it figured out enough to tune. It was costly perhaps due to its rarity made from CF.

Phil,
they basically had to hard mount the engine because any movement of it would rip it loose. If you don't mind the vibration in the car it works great
it is LOUD

Or you could float mount the intercooler allowing it to move, that with a engine damper would probably do it. If you want to make your on and have access to a rapid prototyping machine that could handle plastics and a larger part it would be pretty easy to do and would hold boost, just make sure that the plastic is oil compatible so you dont have problems down the road. Alternatively you can adjust for engine movement using silicone couplers in a layout similar to industrial pipe runs, ie a series of elbows to allow movement, i'm sorry if that doesn't make a lot of sense.

That is *so* freakin' sweet! After a long, grueling day in the office this video just made my day.
Well there is the one that Tul's did. Then again it did require removal of a large portion of the structural bumper...
There are many options at this point besides mine... but no "kit" technically is available... this is not a "cheap" mod but the gains HUGELY out weigh any pressure loss you could possibly expirence...
