ok looking a bit further into this, could you not run piping like fireballed did on there old race car setup?? see here http://www.fireballed.com/machines/m600

they basically ran 2.5inch (i think) piping over and down the front. now if you could combined that with the intercooler from the above kit (ie on that fits with the crash bar in place) then it would be a great piece of kit!

could this work??????

Chris.

Why not just use the core they did? If you call Bell Intercoolers and talk to Gerhard, he will give you the part number to order. He's a really nice guy and actually emailed me a blueprint of the FTR intercooler.

Tuls when you say out weight any pressure loss are you refering to twin charged or turbo only? If so would the pressure loss be to great for a supercharged only car??

I was speaking in the SC application... we have put a front mount on an SC car or two and it was just awesome... (not the one in the pictures here made a "proper" one) there has been allot of misinformation put out there over the years... the amount you gain compared to the pressure you loose voids the need to even worry about it... but that's also cause I drive the car like a four banger not a V8

regardlessof that though the gain is so huge... just like bigger top mounts... I tested pretty much all of them except the DFIC cause it cant be tested

and yes... on a dyno I tested them... if it works on a dyno it works in the real world only that much better.. this is something that people have gone round and round with.... engineers need to be killed to build a car... and vendors have a vested interest to sell THEIR product... I just test stuff and report...

anywho... that's what I got.. others will disagree... I have tested it... thats what I found....

Here is another video of that silver MCS with the Webb Motorsports Prototype FMIC.
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...98E71600DA.htm

I had sought this product out a while back, and remember Randy Webb commenting (in one of the forums I was inquiring about the fmic) that they no longer sold that setup because of the cost vs. demand issue. He did say that they had made a few changes to the setup and it now works perfectly. I believe they altered the couplers.

I would totally want that fmic setup just for the noise alone!

well honestly if you could find one of those "Webb intercoolers" and have a shop then weld up something that then connected some proper pipes.. sort of ovaled to a circle pipe then changed the stock charge pipes as well you would have a great set up.. but the connections for thecharge pipes need to be round.... and you would need to get all urithane bushings for your motor.. so it wouldnt move too much

if it's ever something you are really considering let me know I maybe able to help you

you could do but it would mena hacking the crash bar up.

the bell cores do look very good though and only heard good things about them.

you dont acually ahve to hack the bumper support.. (sorry I cant' call it a crash bar cuase I dont intend on using it LOL)

the only reason I hacked mine was cause of the sheer size of it... but if you were talking one for an SC you wouldnt need one nearly as big... in fact I dont think kalbone hacked his... I forget

Right.
There are plenty of cores that can be used on an R53 in a SC only application without having to hack the bumper bar...R56, 335i, 535i...

OK. I definitely want to do a FMIC setup.
I have an 06 MCSa. I have poly lower engine mounts already, so motor movement should be drastically reduced.
I'd like to see if I can get my hands on the Webb setup, as I hear that it now works fine, with no cracking issues.
I need to get a hold of Randy, and see if I can get details on that setup that is working.

What it there an extra 5 or so 90degree bends. !!!!

A nice A/W setup with a Front mounted radiator would be much better.

JCW intercooler or Alta intercooler - have a fab shop turn it into a Air/Water intercooler. Then place a nice large radiator up front. If you can find room install an ice box for extra cold water.
