This is about Jan / RMW / & Helix if you arnt interested in what they are about and the tune session that they are holding then go away!! You have nothing to contribute, shut it!

I will be talking to Eric shortly to see how many days he wants to line up. We may be doing more days of tuning so we have plenty of time to spend on everyones car Plus there is good beer and food in Philly

I'm not quite ready for a tune yet, but I would love to come down and observe and meet you guys and some other owners. I would like to get a pulley, intake and catback installed in the spring and hopefully Jan will be back and I can subsequently have a tune performed.

I would like to get a benchmark Dyno run on my stock setup if there is time though, just to have a baseline. Might be better to do another time when you guys aren't so swamped with full tilt customers though.

Would it be OK to just come hang out?

it's fine by me, I was just speaking to Eric about coming out again next yr so we can do some testing at the Glen so we will want to showcase the RMW cars there It's best to get the baseline on the same day as your tune, that way conditions are the same

 

Here is the engine mod config:

JCW Exhaust
JCW Intake
GP Intercooler
JCW Fuel Injectors
15% Pulley
IK22 Spark Plugs

Schrick Camshaft, the older version (milder), part no.42401521-00 :run on JCW Software.


Previous baseline dyno chart before the camshaft and GP intercooler were installed with JCW software, 173.06 whp, 155.30 ft/lbs.
Its time to make everything run in harmony.

 

We've just finalized dates for Jan in Jan. We will be installing and tuning Wed. the 16th, through Saturday the 19th of January. Stay tuned for other goings on during that week. Let's hope for good weather (I don't want snow drippings all over my dyno, dammit).

 

maxicooper you're running a shrick cam without a tune for it? i was under the impression that was a big no-no.

 

how will we know what day we are scheduled for? If it would be possible could you put me and Jeffc on the same day?

I know I just recently called to be on the list, but could you put me on the same day as fullcollapse40 because he lives nearby and we can both go down at the same time.

 

Might not get the full potential of the camshaft without custom tuning. But so far, it's fun to drive, no low end loss or any idle issue. I push it every now and then, went to the strip a couple of times and this is already more than 10k after installed, not a hickup.

I was thinking about GIAC to see if they have a pre-map for my mod config, and they don't have one.
Now Jan is in the area, it's a good oppotunity to have a little more fun.

Great turnout in Philly. Too bad I put the car away for the winter. I'd be down just to see a couple of cars get done. You'll be amazed in the difference in your cars.

Anyone else passing through the DC metro area heading north? I know we'll all have different time slots so it may be difficult unless you all want to get there first thin in the morning? which is fine by me.

 

depending on the day, I'm planning on leaving super early. if it's a weekday, I might go up the night before since DC + B'more + Philly rush hours = no fun

 

I hear ya. I'd do the same but I got no place to go. I'll probably leave really early in the AM, whatever day I get.
