what r ur numbers? did u have to buy any extras?
I've never had it dyno'd. The numbers on the Helix mule are 250 at the wheels. That's on a Mustang dyno, which is one of the conservative ones. It comes from the shop ready to go, but I'd recommend an exhaust if you don't have one.
If you want crazy twin charge power talk to Tuls. He is over 400hp, I believe at the wheels! If you go much more than 250whp you will want forged pistons. Oh and maybe a Limited Slip Differential, and a new clutch/flywheel(optional).
Sean,
You going to the track on Sunday?
Also, I can tell you all about twincharging....
give me a call Monday if you can....

I have an '02 with 28k miles, so I didn't have a bunch on even before I got the TK kit about 18 months ago. I have about 8k or so on the kit. It's definately every-day drivable. Like I've mentioned before there is a yo-yo at about -3 lbs vacuum, but that;s easy to work around. The BOV is a noisy one, but I kinda like that.
Other things on the car effect comfort much more than the TK: lightweight flywhhel+race clutch, heavy springs, noisy camber pates, autocross alignment.

Make sure you talk to someone who has been there done that before spending any money on a twincharge. Pistons are needed especially if you go over 250whp. Even then if you have a bad tune or turn up the boost you are going to be rebuilding an engine. Reliability will be a concern if you don't follow the vendors guidelines exclusively. If you are going this route, call Helix as it has had the best tuning setup on it off the 3 systems. Just because a vendor says the kit makes 400hp doesn't mean that system has, it means the turbo is capable of doing it. Won't they won't tell you is the amount of money you will need to spend to get there.
Jan know's what he's talking about, he was one of the original pioneers of the Twincharge kit with Fireballed! Racing.
The thing to realize is that to make 250 HP with twincharge you're going to be spending close to 6k, and you'll be pushing 25 lbs of boost. You need to make 5-6 lbs of boost just to spin the SC. The more reliable approach would be to buy a head (You really need to get a head with the Twincharge anyway, so add 2k to the cost of your twincharge kit), and get a proper tune, exhaust, intake, pulley, etc. There are a few people that are pushing 250 to the wheels on the stock SC.
If you have 6-8k to spend and want to put 250-300 hp to the ground, give Jan a call, he'll lead you in the right direction. Wikipedia has his picture under the "Been There Done That" section for the MINI

As far as reliable is concerned, has there been a TK failure on NAM? I haven't seen one. Anyway, to each their own.
