holy crap what an old thread....started 2 years ago....so why not jump in.

Anyways, Turbos can use a BOV because as you let off the gas, the turbo is still spinning, it needs to expel that forced air. therefore the BOV discharges it and just happens to make a cool noise. Most turbo cars come with a BPV which means the air is recirculated back into the induction system. you can buy a BOV and set it to VTA (vent to atmosphere) to get the loud whoosh sound. BPV can make a similar noise but not as loud.

Superchargers dont utilize this because superchargers compress the air directly in tune with the throttle. when u let off the gas, the supercharger instantly slows its spinning, thus no need to discharge a lot of built up pressure. This is also why Turbos have "turbo lag," and superchargers simply just GO. So you can't have the cool whoosh sound but you do have the awesome whine...each induction system has its own unique sound perks

There is my explanation in simple terms from a person who has owned both turbo and supercharged cars.

Great explanation! My friends Corrado makes whishh BOV sound with his G60 supercharger with a VTA, BPV, LOL. I will try and post a video of that.

Guess I will have to look into some other mod.....hmmmmmm......have any ideas?
