I am very impressed!!

Peak HP: 154.8
Peak torque:132.9

Now if I'm correct in my calculations that means 182.1 HP at the crank. I am quite impressed. This is with a BMP intake and the holes cut in the seperator. Thats all!!! Now, before all you guys go doubting me, I do understand that I had no runs before the intake mod, so I don't really know how to compare with stock on this Dyno, but it will tell me what the pulley does for me this weekend!! Overall, The torque curve looks nearly book-flat, and the HP climbs in nearly a perfectly straight line all the way to redline.

OK, now I REALLY can't wait for that pulley!!!!

That is 178HP at the crank with 15% driveline loss. It's 173HP with a 12% calculated loss. I believe the MINI is somewhere in between that, maybe more toward the 12%. Whatever the case, if it's 163hp base, with a 12% loss it is still a 10 crank HP gain which sounds about right.

Very impressive numbers for just an intake, but they don't seem off for this car. You can feel that much HP also.

I really want to dyno my car without the intake, then put the minipilo intake on, dyno that, all before I install my QS exhaust. After the QS exhaust I will dyno the car then. Anybody in southern california know a decent shop?

what kind of dyno was used?

Intake is going to be one of my first mods...these car's really seem to respond well to them

Antranik corrected the numbers. Still a good gain though!

A typical stock MCS has about 144HP peak at the wheels (with variances between 141HP and 149HP). This equates to about 12% drivetrain loss.
a simple ratio...
144 over 163 equals 154.8 over "X"
X=175.2HP peak at the crank

In other news...
I'm also dying to get my car on the dyno. I have the Madness intake with baffle cutout, pulley, and ECU, so I'm expecting at most about 37HP at the crank.
144over 163 equals "X" over 200
X=176.7HP peak at the wheels (I hope )

Cheers,
Ryan

Thanks! Rye did the calculation correctly, I did it with 15%, he did it with more like 11.75% which sounds right. The Dyno was a Dynojet, but I don't know what model. I'll have the printout this weekend at the pulley install, and I'll get the new numbers on Wednesday for post-pulley power. Damn I'm ready for that!!!

Sorry what do you mean "Holes Cut in the seperator?" if you have a BMP intake should you do this or is it already done when its installed. I'm new to this, thanks for any assistance in understanding.

The holes in the seperator at the back of the engine bay are just to utilize the air coming in the fresh air vents at the base of the windshield. You don't have to do this with the BMP, but it definately is another route for cold air to enter the intake. The only problem I have had is that it also lets warm air into the fresh air vents, so on hot days, standing still you might get warmer air out of the vents than you want. This dosen't apply when the A/C is on.
