Guess I got a strong one

Dynoed 180whp consistently in 3rd and 4th today, 190lb-ft in 4th, 209 lb-ft in 3rd, multiple runs with consistent results -- I'll post the chart tomorrow.

Correction was 1.01 and testing was @ RT Tuning in Landsdale PA.

I installed an ALTA tbe AFTER dynoing and should have charts for that next week.

SAWEET! Glad you got a good one! Can only help moving forward. Keep us all posted on the results! Do you have plots to publish?

Enjoy the new ride!

I'll have them up tomorrow for scrutiny; I'll post them right after I throw on my flame suit.

nice, has anyone researched if the build date has anything to do with the power differences people see?

The differences are more related to specific dynos, altitude, turbos and a plethera of other variables.

My car did roughly 200 whp and 238 ft/lbs. of torque on a dynojet. It is not a strong car, it is just a normal car that was dynoed at 5900 ft of altitude on a dynojet.

Turbos are tricky when it comes to dynos.

That's a good point. It's important to remember that the SAE correction factors for temperature and pressure are just first-order approximations, and won't give you the exact same results that you would get if the dyno and the car were actually at the standard conditions (25 degrees celsius and 990mmHg atmospheric pressure).

Also, the SAE correction factors don't account for humidity, which has an effect on power output.

Lastly, naturally-aspirated engines respond differently to changes in temperature/pressure compared to forced-induction engines (turbocharged/supercharged). In particular, turbocharged engines do a lot better with higher altitudes than naturally-aspirated engines. This means that a turbocharged engine on a dyno at high altitude gets an artificial boost in indicated power from the SAE correction factor that it probably shouldn't get.

As someone who has dynoed many cars over many years, I completely agree with all the input given here. And I agree, different dynos give different numbers.

My purpose in dynoing, was to get a stock baseline so I can test the other mods I have done in steps and give feedback to the boys and girls of NAM.

That being said, I agree, the difference from run-to-run on the same dyno is what matters, not the actual numbers...

BUT -- I believe the consensus that this car is highly underrated from the factory and I think this dyno shows that.

NOW SOMEONE HELP ME FIND A BOOST SOURCE I CAN PLUG INTO INSTEAD OF TAPPING THE MANIFOLD!!! :impatient
