They are actually very popular on NAM...if you use search just type in obx and you should find some great info....im sure some users will chime in....

I have it on mine as many others here on nam do and love it. The engine/exhaust sound becomes deeper and your low to mid range torq picks up which is what you want. The overall performance is 10 time worth the money.

Anything good about the OBX?

....Everything! Great gains. Great sound. Great price. Seemingly good quality.

Got mine a couple weeks ago and the OBX + Miltek = A hell of a nice exhaust sound with some bass but not to loud.

The OBX header is great< almost too good to be true. I paid $1000 for a Larini and it looked like a piece of art but fell apart in 2 months. The OBX feels just as good and has lasted with zero problems for 8 months.
You do the math.

I had Eric weld my stock cat on. It's not that hard if you're handy with metal fabbing or not that expensive either.

Running stock cat - cost me 45 bucks to do a SS weld on the flange to the cat.

Some don't want to cut up the stock system but are you really going to drop the dime to remove yr header and put on the stock header when you sell the car? I say cut it and use it - when it goes buy aftermarket.

I came close but opted for the the stock CAT based on sound. I just didn't know how loud the high flow CAT would make my car.

Thanks for the exhaust note tip Jeffc.

Does anybody know if there might be an emission problem with running a higher flow cat?

There might be, depends on how "high flow" it is I spose. I'm pretty sure mine is gone though, it smells like its cat-less. I have no way to check though as I use an O2 simulator and I had the cat is welded in without a flange...stupid me.

I have both OEM 02 sensors in place with an after market CAT. The ECU and #2 02 sensor will tell on you if the CAT isn't doing it's job. Mine was tested in July and it passed. Check out my gallery pictures to see CAT setup.

I'll check out your gallery. Sorry to hear about your smelly exhaust ThumperMCS. I'll flange my cat in so I can swap it out when it runs its course.

Is there any problem with the header and stock cat with the M7 USS? My stock header precat rubs against one of the bars and I'm curious if anyone has had problems with the OBX.

I have the OBX w/stock cat and Milltek. I love it.

As far as the USS, I think I remember reading (a long time ago) both that the USS can rub on some headers (or catbacks) but also that it is fixable. Not sure. Call Peter at M7, and he can probably answer questions about the USS and various exhausts.

I'm running a ceramic coated OBX with the stock cat and the One-Ball exhaust.
Like others , I'm totally happy with the set-up.
I found a stock system on e-bay for $75.00!! with less than 5000 mles on it. Had the guys at Bay Bridge Motors in Oakland ,Ca do the cut and weld.

Looking good thats the way to do it jimz68
Only one thing I would add are a couple of flat washers, one between the bolt head to spring and spring to flange.

Thanks! Kind of hard to see in the photos, but there are flat washers in the spots you metioned. I replaced all of the OBX supplies hardware with stainless. And the bolts that came with the header were too short. System has been on for about 6 months with no rattles, leaks etc.
(now watch, because I said that, the whole bloddy thing will fall off on the freeway. )

Thanks, again! Still hangin on there.
Forgot to mention, when I did the install, I replaced the two end header flange bolts with Nissan studs (14065-V5004) and Nissan lock nuts (14039-W1500). Much easier to install with the header held up by the studs while you thread in the bolts.

Hey guys, I might be a bit Stupid for asking this question, but what does the Ceramic coating that you guys get done on the Header actually do? Are the OBX Headers off E-Bay Ok to buy? Or are they a ripp off of the real thing? Thanks in advance
