Advice on Injectors and Software

Hello All,
I was considering putting some performance parts on my 04' JCW and wanted to know if any one has some advice. The following are the parts I am considering:

- Nology Wires, MSD Coil, NGK iridium plugs
- M7 DDM intake, Alta Inake Hose, M7 58mm Throttle Body,
- M7 DFIC w/ blanket
- Headers (need suggestions)

I was wondering if anyone has advice on if I am going to need to upgrade my software and/or injectors with this setup. And if so, what products would be best with this setup?
THANKS!
(the goal here is 250hp, is that a pipe dream?)

The nology won't do any good. Your JCW already has the equivalent of a mild pulley & cat back. Without going crazy and killing a JCW, I would just keep it mild and do the JCW airbox (race version, no flap, and ITG filter), head work, Schrick cam, header, JCW injectors & get a real tune on a dyno. Try a scoop & diverter mod instead of the new intercooler first. If done right you will notice a difference with the whole package.

you will need a cam and some good head work. A custom tune on the dyno will be a must. That will cost you at least $3500 with labor. You also need a 15% pulley and header. Everything else won't make you power on the dyno.

The cam is over rated unless you are at the extremes of performance. From what I have seen and what Fireballed saw with one was only single digit gains even on a turbo car, and it idles like poo. Custom grind would do more, but again big bucks and idle sacrifices. I run 440s on my turbo setup and have them trimmed WAY back.

Oh, the throttle body is pure vaporware too. Save your money for a dyno tune.

And before ANY of this find a good tuner to work with. Check out Mario's history, or anyone who has worked with LDG and see that just slapping mods on *****-nilly is not gonna get you where you want to be. Not trying to be condescending, just trying to impart some wisdom learned after many thousands of dollars spent by many of the long timers around here....

THanks for all of your suggestions. I think an intake and the hose (just cause I love the way it looks) will be necessary since my particular car has the stock "S" intake. Other than that I think the 210hp will suffice. Maybe I'll concentrait on suspension since that is where MINIs kick butt.
Has anyone had any experience with MINI Works in Scottsdale? They seem to have a pretty good shop and I would like to find a good tuner as suggested. Thanks Again.

Any suggestions of where to go in the Southern Arizona region for a good tuner?

Why not join in on the local GTG on fridays. The VW/MINI group has built engines and done turbo conversions on our own.
