Clutch, flywheel and LSD install by MiniCorsa

I received my new clutch and flywheel from RMW about two weeks ago. Jan has great deals on clutch Master products. My LSD showed up last week so I scheduled the install with Danny at MiniCorsa for today.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Danny. We are having record heat in SoCal yet Danny pounded it out in record time despite the heat. He never takes a break and works at a pace that is impressive to watch.

The car definitely revs easier thanks to the light weight flywheel. I have to drive 500 miles to break in the Kevlar clutch so I haven't hammered it yet. The peddle feel is just like stock and there is no chatter at all .

FX300 (Stage III)

· Heavy-duty street & racing system
· Holding capacity 110% over stock
· Heavy-Duty reinforced pressure plate
· Hi-Leverage™ pressure ring design
· Sprung hub/cushioned disc
· Steel backed Segmented Carbon/Kevlar

Attachment 22603

Much rattle at idle or driving along?

Is the clutch on/off, or more progessive?

Looks like it is a sprung hub style clutch. should not increase idle chatter much if it functions like my UUC unit. Looking good BTW.

Will a holding capacity of 110% over stock be sufficient with all that you've got in the works?

It should be more then enough to take the added HP. I would of got the twin disk if I were going for turbo numbers.

I'm only driving the Mini......

I don't care if it's a run to get milk. I need 500 miles. Already did 130 since Saturday.

The clutch on El D is not the same as the one on my car.

Why do you have to bed the stage 3 clutch in? beats the hell out of me but thats what CM tells you to do. They put a big caution sheet in the box telling you how to drive for the first 500 miles.

Update

500 has come and gone and the car feels great. I really like the CM clutch / flywheel / OBX combo.

Just pulling away from lights is easier. You definitely feel the bite of the new clutch. The OBX LSD makes a big difference as well. I can know power out of corners that used to be a pain before.
