I think if the stuff is applied according to the directions (which involves multiple coatings and heating up/cooling down in between), it lasts longer and basically acts as a rust preventative. Just kidding about the white - white was popular for headers in the '70s, but there'd be no practical reason to do that on the MINI.
Actually, that VHT stuff is nearly impossible to get off short of sand blasting...I coated my polished exhaust tips and no stripper will dissolve it... Know of anything that will chemically take this paint off?

yes ., yes it is ... i love my alta stuff . 180 at the wheels with a bad lung ain't bad for a header .

yup with the alta cat and full exhaust .no codes . with the lung fixed and the webb head ,i may see 200 or more .

Ok...I'm bored waiting for the header to come back from the shop with the extra bung so I can install it...as soon as Mr UPS shows up with the flex pipe and Magnaflow resonator, I'll have it and the connecting flange welded ...then I'll need to run Msfitoy over to my header guy which is roughtly 15 mile away with just the header on...hope I don't get pulled over as it's going to be LOUDA$$!!!...

In the meantime, as to not bore you guys too, I installed new "angle eyes" marker lamps and got my new legit Michigan plate...enjoy...
