Drivetrain FIREBALLED! RACING - The "PROJECT" formerly known as "MARY"
OK I keep reading through this thread in hopes of understing but I can't figure out why in the world the stock car in this project as posted by fireballed people is making 158 WHP! I thought that the stock 02 cars made somewhere around 143-145 WHP which is an approximate 12% drive train loss when figuring the 163 bhp.
Can fireballed people explain to us uninformed and ignorant posters one more time the reasons about the 158 WHP on stock car and also what is the GP MINI and how different it is from the stock 02 cooper S?
Thank you

The GP was released to mark the end of the first generation of “21st Century” MINI, developed by MINI under the ownership of BMW and first sold in England in 2001. The GP has a significant number of special features, including:
- Assembled in Bertone, Italy from a “body-in-white” kit manufactured at the MINI plant in Oxford, England
- The most powerful first generation production engine, with John Cooper Works upgrade, further boosted to approx 215hp / 180ftlb torque
- Weight savings of almost 100lb by removing the rear seat and substituting aluminum rear control arms
- Unique “Thunder Blue” body color, with silver roof and contrasting red mirror caps
- Unique aero kit, including carbon fiber rear “wing” spoiler and underbody panelling for improved aerodynamics
- Unique 18″ lightweight wheels
- Unique “anthracite” speedometer & rev counter dials

I'm curious to see a Fireballed Stage 3 in a customer's car to see what results they see/verify. Plus it will be interesting to see pricing for these versus the Revolution Mini Works or Wegner heads and certainly performance comparisions...as consumers it's all good.

It's kinda a running joke.. you know.. cuase in england...
Wednesday is special cause... well.... monday is monday... so the motor is built like it's a monday...

Tuesday...weeeeelll mind as well be monday...

Wednesday.. YAAAY! half way through the week! yer really watching yer specs....

Thursday.... well it's not wednesday... nor friday... but better than tuesday!

Friday... 3 sheets to the wind by noon!:impatient
so there you have it.... the brief history of the Wednesday build...
I plan to before doing anything major, get a before and after dyno...however at this point why bother in the real world, the car goes versus whoever, for me that's what really matters not dyno numbers. But I hear-ya! I know the day doesn't matter it's the sum of the parts...sometimes the planets align sometimes they don't. that's why I'd like to see a Fireballed Stage 3 in some customer cars too to ensure it's not a fluke sort of a thing.
I'm sure it's not, but it's nice to hear from happy customer folks to continue to keep it real.

..... snip
..... snipsome people get made and try to figure out why.... cuase people get caught up in the final #s not the delta...
and other reason for lower HP is the heads are very un evenly cast... which effects alot of thingsand since power is made in the head.... a proper head important... this is evident by what has been developing in the last few heads coming out... Import tuning is a special breed.... it's way different than muscle cars... it's not about size it's about tuning... even harmonics play into it...

I wanted people to have a source that came from just another customer.... and one who was doing the testing to give them real world feed back...
Sure I hooked up with Fireballed for a while... and they do some great stuff.... but now I am just a Rogue... LOL

ot i know... but the wednesday's truly talk about brasil right? AFAIK monday builds in england should do nothing more then make your car handle like crap and your gear box suck.
Tules-Thanks again. But I think your forgetting one very important fact here. It really doesn't matter what day of the week the cars are made in Brazil, since everyone there, specialy men in general, think about Soccer or for the lack of a better word, Futbol as I LIKE to call it.
