Wasn't the car to be at AMVIV ? I thought I read something about that but no reports from the event itself.

Nice photos . Are there any links to what peoples feelings about the project that saw it in person? I have been scanning the forums looking for peoples reviews of the new goods shown at AMVIV and mostly it is about Alta, M7, Gnatster and the Vinal guy . I would have thought there would have been a ton of interest and follow up chat.

RMW shared some space with MC2 so my car really didn't stand out. I'm planning on giving some rides and test drives in a few weeks so people can give their impression of it.

Yea, to be honest I'm not sure anyone even knew it was your car (Or that anything other than a big honkin IC was even done to it).

Next year we'll print out some snazzy flyers and out it out on a stand so people really know what they're looking at .

Rather odd that you guys didn't do that this year, seeing how it was probably the only MCS there that was supercharged without an M45. Even more odd is that the owner and manufacturer didn't try to attract more attention to it.

Curious as to why none were given at AMVIV where there were tons of MINI enthusiasts that could compare the feel of the Rotrex to the M45.

True, even people looking at the CAI asked me every time if the silicon hose attached can with the intake . My TB is in a totally different location. The hose between the CAI and TB is half the length of stock yet they didn't even notice . When the stock IC was on the car it really looked stock.

LB: Because unlike other's Jan's products sale them selves thanks to the many many happy customer across the country and the world that are ecstatic at their new found performance.

But even after a whole year and all the independent dyno numbers from all across the US you still think it's all smoke and mirrors. I guess there is just a mass placebo effect running through the mini community.

LB: Nothing curious about it. The car didn't get finished until wednesday night. The car had lots of new things added and we had no time to tune. Jan scaled the ECU for the new injectors and that's it. The car was definitely not done and until it was I'm not going to give test rides. I don't need some one with a chip on their shoulder starting crap on here.

But again this must mean something else to you. Jan doesnt pay me, nor do I get free products. If "I" didn't think the Rotrex was a better solution then the Eaton I would of had Jan change it back long ago. I am a tweak as is Jan. Each time we do something we think of something else we can to to make it better. That's the beauty of a project like this and what has made the ride so fun. Every change we make we have seem more power and better drivabilty. I haven't posted anything nor made claims because I won't until we are done. If it isn't going fast enough for you don't read the thread.

Now I'm off to bed. I will read your bla bla bla tommarow.

Dude, relax. I was just curious because you guys had the car there, and from your post and rustyboy's post it sounded like no one from your camp was showing it off to anyone.
It just seems kind of odd to me that you guys have a MCS with a non-factory supercharger system that wasn't put on display.

sure it was...hood open for all to see. The fact that the car wasn't 'done' and ready to roll out for public consumption therefore no PR display is a shock, I know, what with all the vaporware coming out of other shops and the hype machine we're all used to from other vendors.

I think Brian explained clearly last night - the car wasn't done to his standards nor Jan's...as I said:

anybody who saw it and wanted to know what they were looking at would have asked. Enthusiasts would know the chiller was non-stock and if I remember right, the Rotrex is visible.

As someone new to the mini scene this post has been very interesting. It looks like an awesome project Longboard and very impressive. Even the few haters are interesting to read and its informative because it shows us new guys who to avoid. Keep us posted on updates.
