Eddie, Looks great six Minis.

I just replaced my old Nittos NT01s with new NT01s today, but in 225/45 17 rubber. Hopefully the problems with the tires are behind me.

VV, any news on August 20?

I never heard back from DJ, but MPG said that he was holding some spots open for drivers who get signed off on Friday to run Saturday. So there may be an open spot if less than the expected number of drivers make the cut. Have to wait and see.

I think you will be setting new personal best records for Lime Rock with that new rubber.

New rubber looks real wide compared to 215/45 17s, my previous tire.

Hope it is good for a couple of mph better on the downhill. Looking to get to perhaps 93-94 mph at apex and 110 plus mph at trackout, end of the concrete patch.

I'm sure you will take advantage of the increased contact patch!

Car came down with a suspension rattle Monday coming back from Geneva, NY (not Swiss...Minis are good but not that good). Thought a wheel was coming off

Went through the whole rear suspension...every nut and bolt...2 evenings worth of looking... long story short...left rear shock seems to be rattling. Either I put it in/together wrong or it died (I suspect the former). It comes out tomorrow. If it looks like I put it in/together right then the stock shocks go back in.

One week till LRP I am excited

The continuation of the short story...after changing out the left rear shock 3 times (bolted up the wrong side shock once and counting reinstalling the Koni) I finally found I missed a loose nut...the one behind the wheel I crack myself up

No, seriously, I missed the one on the sway bar It had just started slipping and sounded just like the top of the shock was loose...

Well, at any rate...Now Eddie is ready for LRP

Say, did anyone see OC's post on "how many track days?"? He is looking for people to meet up with him at Roebling Road; it's a Darkside event.

I may be interested in roebling road but do not really know if it is possible yet. Prices are reasonable but it is really far. I guess Eddie and s-driver, both of you are a no go.

I would really like to do VIR someday...as s-driver said...seems like a great halfway point to meet OC. My wife would like to go to Savanah again. I'll make sure I can do a track day too.

I am thinking of registering for this. Give me a few days to ponder and arrange.

And I hope to be running my 225s.

Eddie, Just bled the brakes and changed the front pads to XP10s. Not sure I really need them in the rain but I changed them anyway. I will only be running streets this time with 5 dampening up front and 3 in the rear.

Ready for LRP, and the rain. See you there around 7:30 am. Not going too early since I do not have to change tires.

I have my rain gear too.

So far it looks pretty good on Saturday when I checked the hourly weather segments. Perhaps I can get one session in with the r-comps on Friday. I have decided to bring my r-comps afterall. I generally like the rain but rain driving at LRP demands much more attention and definately has a higher thrill level.

Thrill level=probability of having a 'moment' on the track! Glad you're bringing your Rcomps. It's embarrassing when you lap me on your street tires.

Unfortunately I did. Right into the tire wall after the down hill. Car is on the way to keeler.

Lots of lessons learned. Basically too much sway bar in the back

The MINI gods were not smiling down this weekend at Lime Rock.

Slinger wrecked past the apex on the downhill.

Guys, I heard about you two today. I’m sorry to hear that. Since you’re posting, I’m assuming you are okay, (probably have some pains tomorrow).

Got any pics, how bad is the car? Is Keeler a wrecking yard or bodyshop?

You know if I can help you guys, let me know... we’re almost done with Way’s Mini from WayMotorWorks.... getting ready to paint shortly.

Glad ya’ll okay...

OC - Keeler is a MINI dealer...

Sorry to hear this Slinger, which was it? After Big Ben or after the downhill?? Ones much faster than the other..

Glad your ok and look forward to talking to you..., shoot me an email if you'd like.

LRP is playing with us lately....my neighbor (Mr EVO) spun his Lotus TWICE at the exit of the downhill and had to leave the event per the rules. First time he did a 360 and kept it on track, the second time he spun off and stopped 2 feet from the tire barrier.

It was the down hill. Posting after the incident so mind was quite foggy. The car started to step out and oversteer before the apex at about 95 mph at WOT. Two quick corrections still at WOT did not seem to work with it heading to the hard barriers at track out and it was still stepping out. Decided to put two feet in quickly and it started to hook inward and missle right toward the tire wall. Probably hit about 45 mph or so. Guessing lots of parts to replace the frontend. Hopefully no bent frame.

Lost the front tow hook so the tow driver asked me to drive it back into the pit in and into the safe area. Definately lost the radiator/coolant and lots of stuff on the front but the car certainly did not feel too bad as it powered in. Lots of bodywork front and drivers side from the tires hitting it.

I had problems a few sessions the day before with too much oversteer and keep playing with the suspension to dial it out. I took veggie for a spin in the skip coral and the car just oversteered at a moderate turn at 30 mph just before the session started. I told myself to readjust it as soon as I come in from the session and try to dial some of it out with dampening or tire pressure or ride height adjustment. Just did not make it to the end of the session.

Mark, I can e-mail you a pic from my i-phone if you pm me with an e-mail address.
