Fastest non-nitrous or twincharged MINI

Went out to Speedworld tonight for a little drag racing. Not sure if this is the fastest non-nitrous or twincharged MINI out there, but going off of Andy's list it looks like it is. Finally got the package together on my car, but unfortunately did not have a chance to get my tires here. I ended up running on my regular street tires.

Car Specs:

15% Global Motorwerks Pulley
Global Motorwerks Ported & Polished Head
Global Motorwerks Port Matched Intake Manifold
Global Motorwerks 62.5mm Throttle Body
Schrick 264/272 cam
MiniMania/K&N Intake
OBX Header
B&B Exhaust
JCW 380cc Injectors
JCW Spark Plugs
EVOTECH Software
225/45/16 Toyo T1R's (These are NOT an R compound tire)

The car ran extremely well tonight. Got there and the first pass was a 14.0. I knew there was room to go because the launch was weak. Next pass was a 13.8 and stayed in the 13's all night. Finished with ripping of 4 straight 13.6's and on one of the passes trapped 104mph

Here is the info on the best pass:

60ft: 2.020
330': 5.740
1/8 : 8.807
1/8 mph: 80.795
1/4 : 13.617
1/4 mph: 103.188

It was an extremely fun night. I had my H&R coilovers on my road race set up and was using the street tires, so I am looking forward to getting out there and running some more passes. There is an Import vs. Domestic event here in 2 weeks. I will get out there with some tires and see what I can do. Who knows maybe I will even get some spray, clutch, and an LSD. The best part about tonight was that the local SRT club was there. Maybe 12 cars or so. I beat every single one except for 2 that had big turbo's and slicks that were running 11's.

Also want to give a big thank you to Justin, Mike, and Brian at Global Motorwerks. The have been with me all the way on this car. Designing new products for it and helping with the installs on everything.

I wish you would had said that you were going to Scotttsdale before I left the UK We went to Firebird instead and run the Alamo Chevy pickup, one of the guys there said there was a couple of MCS running the week before at Firebird.

Congrats on the time sounds like its just going to get quicker and quicker

I plan on takin my car up to the drags one night once its running again. Unichip (tuned to the car), 17%, header, custom magnaflow/borla straight through exhaust, AGS, plugs, wires, intercooler, STi intercooler sprayer. Its been dyno'd close to 200whp... it pulled timing on the best run, but it should have cleared that 200 mark easily. Ill letcha know how i do.

12'S WOULD BE AWESOME... INCREDIABLY DIFFICULT WITH STREET TIRES AND THE CURRENT SET UP... A NITROUS INTERCOOLER SPRAYER WOULD HELP... BUT... WELL SEE... ALSO A CLUTCH AND AN LSD WOULD BE AWESOME...

BUT YEP... THOSE WERE STILL ON STEET TIRES... THEIR IS STILL SOME ROOM LEFT WE TRIED A DIFFERNT TIRE SIZE AND ENDED UP RUNNING OUT OF STEAM ON THE BIG END... (4TH GEAR REV LIMITER THROUGH THE TRAPS )

Would trouble you if I asked for a time slip? I have a hard time believing you did a 1.97 without an LSD.

the pass that we made the 13.2 the slip was left behind at a resteraunt and everyone hates me for it... however... we still do have time slips with 1.97 60 foots... and plenty of 2.0X 60' im pretty damn consistant...

ill be awaiting your apology... (don't get pissed im just saying this jokingly)

Very interesting. I still have a hard time believing it. What track do you normally go to? I might have to make a trip to watch and maybe give you a little competition.

A. in his defense...I have seen it...and 2. people seem to confuse how fast a mini can launch with the ability to drive like a ****...and frankly...just cause some....rather most...can't do it...doesn't mean it's not possible...

Isellem is the best drag racer I have witnessed personally. No one can launch and shift the way an old mustang guy can.

Spillman, here is all of the proof you will ever need. Thanks for being the hater. There always seems to be one or two of those in every drag racing environment. People who can never congratulate someone for their accomplishments but say they don't think it is possible because they are some form of expert. In case you have trouble reading its car #71

Unfortunately, the transmission hasn't ever been out of the car so I could not get you any detailed photo's to show there is no LSD in there.

Now lets get on to the part were you want to give com visit and give a little competition. Now before you pack up the RV and head all the way out to Arizona I want you to know that we race at a 1/4 mile track. It's a little longer than the 1/8th's you usually run.

Seeing as your car has nitrous (which mine does not) on it and you run around this entire board talking sh*t about how fast your car is and this and that, I am here to CHALLANGE you. Bring your car out here or to the MINI meet in Vegas. I will race you heads up on a Pro Tree for $10,000.00. Just asking him to put his money were his mouth is. That will leave all of your unanswered questions or doubts in the past. Nothing like seeing it first hand to get all of your answers.

Before anyone starts in with whining about having some trained driver making the passes in the car, I want to clear any confusion up. Isellem is a 22 year old who happens to sell MINI's for a living. By no means is he a trained pro driver or anything like that. He goes to the track occasionally on the weekend just like any one else. I own the car and happen to enjoy watching it be drag raced and I am just a 23 year old who goes to the track on weekends just like anyone else. I can run the car within .1 second of Isellem's times, his just happen to be a little better. He has been my best friend since long before this MINI was built or long before we ever went to a track to drag race. So don't think I went out and tried to find someone who could well the hell out of my car.

For the foxbody or former foxbody guys out there yes Isellem and I have both broken a radio or two in fox's powershifting 3rd. Isellem even broke the toggle switches in the MINI trying to relive the old mustang days.

ohh well its all in good fun!

Spillman... you are more than welcome to come out to speedworld in AZ! It would be fun to run another quick car...

But please don't doubt someones abilities because you lack the ability... You'll get their... I have no doubt...it just takes a little more practice for some. Seriously keep it up. you will get their!
