whats funny is that everyone is going crazy over the MINIUSA drag car... which is just that... a drag car...

very few people have cared about a MINI street car with ac and street tires and dead reliable and consistant... this is huge! Yet few care....

Im not that impressed with there car either. A car weighing 1700lbs with roughly 450+hp should be high 9's. I mean from all the articles i seen, thats what they claim it weighs and the HP is.

Dont get me wrong....There goin high 10's at sea level from that last run they posted a 11.2? at 1800ft above i think it was.

I was going to say that too! That car is 2100lbs or so without the driver.

uuuhh let's see...the car weights 2190...and oh yeah it's only 320 WHP on the 11.2 run...it had no use of NOS and the boost was turned down.....

so the HP to wieght is right on target

Isellem, I care so there's one what you have achieved on real street tyres is unreal and we all know that you would of run a 12 on some drag radials.

However our drag racing world is quite small as you can see by how many people visit our dicussions, what is amazing is when you see how many people have viewed Randy Webbs exhaust thread, just shows what floats most peoples boats.

Now going on the old FTR car, this is where this subject will get "s it or not" the Mini USA car is still a Mini i.e still using a stock shell, now if you want to picky it should have the extra street hardware which amounts probably to a 100lb so okay its a 1/10th quicker than if it was in a street legal trim though they are not claiming it to be a street car.

Our car is basically the same but without the carbon and a heavier driver but we will enter the UK Street Eliminator this year where we have to go on a 30 mile cruise use pump fuel in racing and to re fuel and be totally street legal.

But this class has evolved to people using chrome moly chassis old pro mod 3 x 706 cu in nitrous engines and this year there will be 4 x turbo cars the record stands at 8.12 @ 184 and yes they all do the 30 mile cruise, so what is a street car LOL, one of the cars which probably does the most street miles is found at www.audiracing.co.uk

As the cars get cheaper and more Kids start modifying and racing them these pages will get more views but untill then its just us old drag racers and you young drag racers.

Im lost then.......I read on either MINI2 or Motoring File , thats what Mini is claiming about this car.

So if thats the case. I dont see them being to far out from what my friend has comin out with his.

Sorry for flaming them on me finding the wrong info.

EDIT: I know i read this somewhere and now i cant find where i read that...ill shut up now

Well if those are the correct numbers he's alot faster than he should be. The 11.2 run was at over 1700ft above sea level i thkn they said which on paper makes him in the high 10's at sea level

The power to weight hes showing should be a mid 11's car and he went right past that.

the most we have made is 500 to the ground...however, that 11.2 was first run of the second day....we had turned the boost down and did not spray...you know..every day of racing you gotta make sure everything is a go...

Anyway...so my point is...when you read that stuff, it's a jumble of info...it's all correct...just not a play by play...

that run was perfect...and it was technically a high ten run since you loose almost a half second at that altitude....

so...blah blah blah...you get what I am saying now...all in all it's got alot more in it...so time will tell...

So with the car at sea level and the HP your puttin down ( if it sticks ) will put you in the 9's soon enough....Good Sh*t.

I didnt know anyone from Fireball Tims crew was on here.....I need to talk to you guys then about a thing i have going with a producer friend of mine.

You'd be suprised....we don't make a point of saying anything...it's not about us...it's about the Mini...it's a great platform and that's what we want to and feel we are showing...

everyone knows it handles well...so now what about extreme power....well they are good for that too! woo hoo!

so... if we are at 1300 feet then maybe we are close to 12.90-12.99 interesting... oh well wish i could have gotten it down to an actual 12.9X without altitude correction before the car sold... oh well... we wll see what the future brings...

the calculation for 1300 ft or rather sea level would get you a 13.016

it's an ET factor of .9861 and MPH of 1.0143 which is great...

Sort of...

If you want to play the "coulda woulda shoulda" game, then you need to know what the density altitude was. The elevation above sea level is one factor, but not the only one. Temperature, humidity, barometer, etc. all play into the final calculation.

True!

If we do want to get technical...

You have to go to the tower the day that you race to get the correction factor for the day and it is based off of altitude, barometric pressure, humidity, temperture etc...

so if you want to get really techincal you can't just go off of altitude... because temperture may save or hurt you... just depends on the weather!

Thats why i just like to say... you ran what ya ran!

ask "chickmagnt" why he bought a mini!

I raced him in my MINI and he was in his m3 and i blew his DOORS OFF!!!!

he then came in a day or two later and said some white mini blew his doors off the other day... i asked him if he drove a red M3 and he said yes why??? thats when i had to tell him on the showroom floor... that was me! We had a good laugh
