The Unofficial MINI 1/4 Mile Time Database
Paul, I appreciate that you have had success with your methods, but I have to point out that you are really pushing it on some of your comparisons. I have far more road race experience than drag race experience and trying to equate times to power levels is at best extremely difficult, especially on highly traction limited cars (as a 300+ hp FWD car would be). I'd stick to the drag racing comparisons if you're going to argue the track performance vs. power issue.
So now you saying you cant compare dynos then, as they all read differently... I've never seen a formula like that one to create 180 ft lb be into 253hp, using the correct formula it works out to be 227hp more in line what they saw at Texas, but hey you were there not me and you have dyno'd 100s of Minis.
Gnaster proved when he visted 4 dynos over 2 days he saw 20hp difference so at 230whp that would be 9% difference.
So really we should take dyno numbers with a pinch of salt, unless you verify this at a race track.
Which we have done by having 2 cars take over the mph crown over the 1/4 mile at 105.8.
One of these cars has got within 2 secs off Lee's turbo car which in theory produced 391bhp on a dyno.
So now we have one turbo car that produces on a dyno 391bhp and goes 1.23s on Toyo 888 around Donny, then we have an M45 Mini which produces 255bhp and goes 1.25s around Donny on Parada spec 11, so 136bhp difference and 2 secs difference
Lee 10yrs experience on that track, Jove secound track day first time on that track.
Now the same car has been up the Pod and run a best of 111 so in comparison working with our formula that would be around the 330bhp
mark at 2700lbs (guestimate)
But which dyno is right? we know our dyno ties up with the mph / weight at the Pod.
Does the dyno results matter, not really its what the car runs at whatever track that matters.
Look at Bob at Button Willow, 2nd time out in the car and it goes 2.00 flat (but what head and cam did it have?) and he proberly still needs load of seat time to adapt himself to his new found power.
It'll be excellent to see what you'll get at Button Willow with the TVS, supercharged v turbo battling it out to see who has the ideal road race setup.
Exciting times for 09, who'll be first in the 12s and who'll be first in the 1.50s at Button Willow, I know what my money is on both and it aint you
Maybe you should have a footnote on your posts saying;
highest horsepower and torque on "insert company name" dynapack
please do not compare these numbers with any others

The Mini world is going to be turned upside down later this yr and I can tell you now RMW is working on bringing a full spec car to the UK next yr. Yes Roland..... your day is coming

nice to see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
With a subject title of "The Unofficial MINI 1/4 Mile Time Database" were you actually thinking there would be 1/4 mile times posted here?
Whats laughable is this whole thread. The OP must be hating it! A frickin pissing match.
Thanks for contributing, you fixed it all. If you haven't noticed, the OP bailed on NAM and the pissing matches years ago.
I came in here expecting 1/4 mile times and got this
Paul, you seriously need to stop your nonsense. You are talking as if RMW or anyone that has RMW parts needs to proof anything to you. Too bad you are in the UK or else I personally would show you what my car with RMW goodies is capable of doing. Everyone that has ever bought anything from RMW is truly happy with the service and the parts and as far as now nobody cares about a 1/4 mile time. I might be doing a 1/4 track soon just for the fun of it and will post my times, but the power I personally gained from RMW shows on a real track. That is all I and many others here in the U.S care about. Just stick to your 1/4 runs and be happy with the times and your calculations you are coming up with.

All the 13sec cars we're talking about except mine have an RMW head on, the camshaft you're using came through us, so i do know how quick and RMW car and cam is; 13.2 at 105.8 on parada spec II's at 2488lb
You keep leaving sentances out Jan, you forgot; around SOW
still waiting for a disco potatoe to beat us around it

btw... you never did answer this question.... gee.......I wonder why?
Guess you didn't want to call Hubie or Brian a liar.... huh....
funny how this all works

atta boy Paul............
Keep changing calculators til you get the answer you need
the only one REMOTELY close was the car I tuned with 199whp
this was closer using these so called calculators
yet you say its 250bhp..... whatever

Shawn has shown you that you can't do it accurrately yet you persist... take it up with Shawn. I'm sure he's having fun with you and your hammered out keys on your calculator
Need I say more, there's a difference between a salesman and a racer.
