A 100 grams for $13 is a very good deal indeed. Most clay sells for $13 for 20 grams. Stack some up with the Nero and I'll be down to get them. Merry x-mas to me!

Edit: Oh and a 4" pad too.

I already ordered, hee.

I'm an addict.

But also, my husband dropped an entire half a bar on the nasty garage floor last night. Thus, he gets to buy a new one!

I'll show him!

At least he doesn't have to wax the car...not that I'd let him anyway. I'm currently forcing him to use up the last of the Griot's on his car so I can use the good new Prima stuff on mine!

You crazy kids, you DID just order. I thought you were just teasing!

MiniMaybee... what color 4" pad do you need? I'll set out a pre-loaded basket for you (you'd just better check it to make sure I don't sneak anything extra in there!). You need the 3" plate too though, right?

Thanks for your orders, guys! We'll get your packages out to you today.

I've heard a lot about the "clay" but I really don't understand what the benefits are or how it is applied? Can some one help me catch a clue?

Clay can seem a little mysterious until you use it and see what it does. It has numerous uses and is very easy to use.

Here is an info sheet about clay... what it is, what it is not, and how to use it:

Quick question, does the free shipping include other items (assuming the clay was also purchased)? Or is the free shipping for the clay only?

I've never used clay. Is 100g a large amount (how much would be used per application)?

rkw- you will use about a half-dollar coin sized...but depending on how
contaminated your car is, you may need more.

Depends - the bigger the easier it is to hold on to. I use about 1/5th or 20 grams. Roll it and then flatten it into a pancake about the diameter of a pop can. If you don't drop it this should easily do your whole car. Just fold it and kneed it when it gets dirty.

I guess my question is, should I stock up on this deal, or does 100 grams last most of you a pretty long time?

Assuming you don't drop your clay (big assumption) and that you clay in the spring and fall; one bar should last you at least a year if not two. Gotta keep it sealed though.

It's a good deal especially with the free shipping. My own favorite source for Meguiar's products sells 200gms of clay for about $1 more than the 2 pcs combo from DP, but shipping of $8 to $15 means more clay in my pocket! LOL

I'm gonna place an order and see if I can test just how much clay they have since they said they have enough to never run out. LOL JK.

If you're going to spend any money at all on caring for your car, buy a bar of clay. Even one bar of clay to start with. Waxing a surface that needs claying but you don't, will never look or feel as good as one that's been clayed, and the wax won't last as long either!

Clay pulls off or some say-- shears off the bonded contaminants in your paint that don't wash off leaving a glassy smooth surface. This means the clay will get dirty.

How fast will that happen?

Depends.

Is your car parked outside? Do you wash it often? If you don't, then the build up will be great, and you will clay more often.

If your car is garaged then claying once a year maybe all that you need.

Just remember, if you properly maintain your finish--clay first time, wash it, Quick Detail it, and protect with wax---you might not have to clay ever again. I clayed my 2003 MC once every 2 years. Like I said the reason you clay is to remove above surface bonded contaminants. But if you remove those contaminants before they have time to bond, then you won't have to clay and your clay bar will last a long time!

For reference, I used 200 grams of clay to clay one of those super huge SUVs that was in bad shape--and I had to toss the clay out after one car. So it depends!
